Also, guess what? I have all of 2024 done. That's right. Thirst traps, Patreon Audio's, heck, even Touch Yourselves in case you don't give me ideas (glares You WILL give me ideas). So, no matter what, you're getting those audio's. They are waiting on Patreon here, loaded and ready to go (how's that for a tease?)

Already so much to look forward to for the rest of the year! That edging game one might just undo me but I’m sure it’ll be worth it right? 😅 First time commenting on a Friday post (you just all have such great music taste and I’m shyyyy🫣)!! I tend to listen to music kind of thematically or vibe-based so my taste can definitely be all over the place. So this month’s theme has been “whatever happened to those artists (mostly pop and mostly women) that everyone bullied for no reason?” (or alternative title “bullied female pop singer to gay icon pipeline”?) First up Carly Rae Jepsen: I feel like “Call Me Maybe” was as universally loved as it was hated when it came out even though it is a perfect execution of a pop song by every metric and definition. I don’t think she had any more big hits after that but her 2015 follow-up album “Emotion” was an 80s synth-pop DREAM. She had dropped of my radar since then until I heard her 2023 single “Loneliest Time” https://youtu.be/Sy0A0pQmGPM?si=dfUN6WgSE0wj7Cm6 which is fantastic orchestral, cinematic disco. The whole album (The Loneliest Time) and the b-side album (The Loveliest Time) are quite, quite good as well. I just love artists that commit making pop music on purpose regardless of mainstream success or popularity. Next, Rebecca Black. Remember “Friday”? Why was everyone so mean to a child doing the equivalent of theme park karaoke just because it happened to be on the internet? (There is a whole secondary dark story behind the company that made all of these horrible songs for suburban children who just wanted to follow their dreams but that’s separate concern). Anyway, she took some vocal lessons now she makes some really good indie alternative pop music that’s definitely worth a listen!
