The writer of the show actually said that he did it intentionally because he simply “thought the word bear was funny” HAHA. You can look up a list that shows u every episodes bear reference it’s hilarious

The "bear" easter egg isn't really real, as far as I know lol. I listen to the New Girl rewatch podcast hosted by Cece and Winston and they've asked the creator about it, and as far as she says it's just a coincidence. And Cece (her actress lol) also says she doesn't find them in a lot of eps as they rewatch. But I suppose it's still something you can look out for for fun haha, an unintentional easter egg

winston and schmidt are one of my absolute favorite duos on the show, and that is important because of the nick and jess pairing they have to have a strong counterpart and i always look forward to ness episodes because i also know it will have great winston/schmidt moments too
