I suspect it was a targeted poison for Tian.

Fayhem

It seems to be that it attacked his meridians (AKA, some of his spiritual organs) rather than his body. His cultivation arts are very good at repairing him, but they seem to be moreso focused on healing his body than his spirit - as Tian mentions offhand in relation to medicine but probably also applies to other things, things that can heal the spirit are rare and powerful and probably usually more associated with Heavenly Persons than Earthly Persons. There's also the matter that his cultivation arts *use* his meridians for the healing, so what do you do when the thing you need to use to heal yourself is the thing that needs healing?

Gerald Ransom Jr

Tian soup 2.0??

Gerald Ransom Jr

He’s level 7 but he’s 15 maybe 16 now

Gerald Ransom Jr

Tian=Shy Guy

Liam Zay

They obviously just have to dissolve into soup and come back stronger

atmosphericturtle

Can’t believe they brought a rock thrower to a fight with Tian… 🙂‍↔️

Morog T Tiny

There is one good reason that Li might be scared, what if he was the bait, and he knew it and didn't say anything but he knew they were there. Then watching Tian move like a threshing machine through them, hurt with poison exposure that would kill you, absorbing blows that would break you, screaming with righteous anger and no matter what, just moving forward and the people he hit just started to scream and rot, it would be terrifying wouldn't it. Then after it all the kid walks it off but doesn't know your secret, that you knew they were there and didn't warn them. Li would be pretty scared then wouldn't he? He might even be terrified.

ioajfidsnmfomds77

He didn’t kill any civilians And yeah he turned that rock thrower into puree

Gardor

Did he kill lots of people, full on rampage mode, or did he just turn the one guy who threw a rock into jam?

Malcolm Haynes

Would love to see this from Daoist Li PoV.

Noah

Wait, that was a different chapter??

hobbitxcr

Wonder what was different about this poison. In the past his physique has eaten poisons and curses no problem, this one seems to have almost completely taken our boy out.

CloudyBall

That poor boy has seen nothing but straight-up raw violence since his first encounter with an immortal. But he is what, 6? A couple of years with Tian's brothers should help alleviate all the trauma, or at the very least, become a mini copy of Tian. Either way, heretics aren't gonna have a fun time when he has grown up

DagNabItAll

No hell too deep for rock throwers!

Andrew Simpson

I missed the last chapter because it started with "this is a deathtrap!" Just like the previous one, so I went straight from the bathhouse to tian talking to the assassins, and tbh I missed very little. Mark of a good writer. At worst, I was just like "weird time skip but I guess we're getting very episodic with our months long journey'

Aadi Narayan

I like the two extremes of Tian's behavior, also bringing back the "rock thrower" phrase is cool.

Mundane

This is the -perfect- time for the dao of tea to overturn fear and make a new friend!

Diarmuid McGinnity

Have you just caught up? If so I’d advise you to hang on. I read the last book on here weekly and I felt similarly but it ended extremely well. In fairness there has seemed to be more fighting so far.

Matt DiMeo

I am not sure Tian will turn his poisoning into a fortuitous encounter, but If someone offered me the right odds I might take the bet.

Chad L.

Still loving the story. Every chapter had something I like.

Veridescent

Though unfortunately in the context of the setting its likely he will find and meet danger regardless.

Morog T Tiny

I wonder how many Tier 9s were in the group they just killed. A brief view from Liren or another bystander sounds awesome, Excellent chapter, Warby just keeps knocking them out of the park!

Raymond Mouton

Thanks for the chapter.

Sonivitus

I loved this story in its first book. Now its 20 chapters of the new one and I cannot get into it. Previously there was amazing contrast to all other xianxia I have read (the outer court, the relationships, the MC), but now it reads as typical xianxia. Its just not for me anymore

Zenopath (AEV)

If I were little treasure I would be really reconsidering if I wanted to be a cultivator. Feels like a dangerous job with short life expectancy... Especially considering what his PoV must be like.

Logrus

>It seemed he wouldn’t be making a new tea friend. T_T

Codered999

If he doesn't have anything helpful to say he stays quiet to accumulate more currency with which to say helpful things. Ultimately Tian doesn't need or require his help and didn't ask for it in regards to this situation.

Zenopath (AEV)

I think next chapter will be a Liren PoV. Author left gaps so retelling the same events from her PoV won't be repetitive.

David Bailey

... where is Grandpa? 🫥

Abhi

It kind of sounds like Tian was the only one hit with the really bad poison. Or it interacted badly with his body constitution maybe. If it's the former wonder if the hit wasn't against the group so much as Tian specifically. Someone put a hit out on Direct Disciples Fu's Son maybe?

Robert Mullins

With tian and possibly Hong injured are we going into a different phase, a time skip, or using the special medicine?

Robert Mullins

Curious if Liren was somehow less effected by the poison or if we're just not seeing her damage because we are watching from Tian's POV. Rock throwers are Tian's bandits.

Veridescent

Well that poison method is fascinating, a inversion of how most cultivation techniques are supposed to work? The elements accumulated and balanced but antagonistically? Mildly curious if its a thing of abundant Yang or a reversed cycle of elements, accumulation mirrored and reversed such that the energy of the target goes against itself. The medicinal potential for localized bits are actually quite interesting... Unfortunate that at least some of it was using heretical methods but a joining in pattern may exist, just as it does with the Tian soup.
