today I finished coding the biggest new quest, "The Bot Collective". This quest wraps the new away mission content, new Underverse Bot Parts and a new Subsystem.
The Quest begins when you are pulled into a conflict between two factions of renegade Bots. There is the peaceful Collective and the aggressive Enclave. The Collective enlists your Services to take out hideouts of the Enclave, who, by using Underverse Technology improvements, plan to eventually wipe out all Biological lifeforms.
This neatly solved the problem I had with not wanting Captain Jim to become a hunter for escaped peaceful bots who did nothing wrong. Now, you will only get into combat with the agressive Enclave, while supporting the Collective and being able to trade with it.
The Quest stretches through 4 Star Systems. While implementing it I also added some new dynamic space backgrounds to make the scenes on the bridge more immersive (see screenshots).
This was the biggest quest. Remaining integration work is Vee's new Uniform activation and some minor side quests...
Content became much bigger than planned, but release date in (Mid) October is confirmed.
