What a stunning study! The lighting plays so well- something often not to realise, the tricks of lighting to give the right attention. I really love these two- They have that oil paintings feel, and something I'd easily hang on my wall- even if it is a study, they are amazing.

I could see that, I did notice her but I also looked at the background a bit more, but only on the first one. The second had a really nice distribution of the light

Because of the use of red and bright yellow on her black dress my eye is drawn to that it both images. Red and high contrast will draw attention. But like what you've done with the light
