[Freya POV]
Freya hums cheerfully as she knocks thrice on the door of the Hestia Manor. She idly hears some grunting and cries before bustling footsteps quickly make their way toward the door and a familiar short goddess slams the door open with a huge grin.
“Hello! How may I- Ah… You’re Michael’s friend. Syr, right?” She spoke her words cheerfully at first before recognizing Freya’s Syr disguise and quickly losing her cheer as she tilted her face and stared at Freya with a confused but mostly blank expression.
Hestia has become a lot more perceptive since her descent to Orario. It makes some sense, her second child was Michael. Gods adopt close connections with their first few children, often picking traits from them that could change them almost permanently. Hestia picking up Michael’s perceptiveness and sharpness was not unnatural, even if slightly inconvenient as she was much more alert than she would’ve been back in the day.
At least her connection with little Bell made her even purer and more childish than she was in Tenkai. Small blessings or whatever. Though the opposite is also true, Bell and Michael both exhibit kindness that is only seen in Hestia. Though Bell more than Michael, the latter was not the kindest (which made sense since he wasn’t her first child).
“Yes! It’s nice seeing you again Goddess Hestia, I was unfortunately unable to finish my conversation with you the last time we spoke.” Freya gave Hestia her brightest smile as the goddess slowly nodded her head and blinked.
“Ah, it’s no problem. You and Michael had… things you needed to do.” Hestia blushed slightly before shaking her head and composing herself. “I’m not sure if you’re aware or not, but Mikey traveled to the Far East a while ago to resolve a few issues he needed to conclude.”
“Ah, yeah he already told me at the tavern before he left. I was actually here to check up on you and the others since he requested that I regularly visit and cook for you all. Though he specifically asked that I ask Ryuu to cook instead of myself…” Freya pouted slightly at the last part as Hestia’s eyes darted down to the bags in her hands. She then looked back into the house and took a deep breath.
“Come into the living room! Rejoice, you all won’t have to cook your own lunch as well as mine today!” Freya’s eyebrows twitched as a cry of relief from three different voices echoed and three pairs of footsteps slowly entered the manor from the backyard. “I knew that Michael wouldn’t leave us to fend for ourselves without his cooking! What a good child.”
Well… That may have been a small lie from Freya. Michael and she did not have the best talk before he had to leave. At least one on one, he seemed amiable enough when they were in the tavern. She did not expect Hestia to be so shameless though…
Freya wryly laughed as Hestia puffed her chest out proudly and ushered her in, swiping the bags out of her hands before quickly running into the dining room as a sweaty and exhausted trio of a Pallum, Elf, and a Bunny- a Bell sat with their faces pressed against the table. She could idly hear them groan every few seconds, their bodies twitching erratically.
Ah, that elf must be the student Mikey seduced into his tutelage by speaking honeyed words and promises of power into her ears. Thousand Elf, Lefiya. She’s quite a cutie with a beautiful soul-
… Freya could swear her soul was not this beautiful before. She would’ve noticed it for sure if it was, this girl was tied to the hip with the Sword Princess. Did Mikey somehow cleanse that girl’s soul to this degree? It’s flawless, not at all tainted with any of the usual filth that inhabited almost every soul she saw.
Bell still held his utterly transparent soul inside him, clear and beautiful as always. It’s quite unfortunate that she’d never be able to mold it into something else as she had planned, but it was more than worth the price if it meant getting Michael.
A mere oddity does not compare to the jackpot of all jackpots, after all.
“Good afternoon everyone! Bell, it’s been too long! Just because Michael isn’t available doesn’t mean you shouldn’t come to visit every now and again, you know?” She greets the group cheerfully as Bell raises a hand in greeting with a weak smile while the pallum girl stares at Freya suspiciously. The elf simply stared at her for a few moments before her eyes widened and she got off the table.
“A-ah, h-hello Syr! I-I am just…” Aww. The poor thing was embarrassed and frightened at being caught with Michael’s Familia by someone who was capable of informing the Loki Familia at any time when they visit the tavern.
“Hehe, no worries. Your secret is safe with me! Michael seems to have friends in high places, though.” The elf nodded her head gratefully before blushing profusely and not responding out of embarrassment.
“Enough chit-chat! It’s time we eat so we can go back to the training Michael assigned for you all. Ehehehe… this power, it’s addicting!” Hestia giggles evilly as the other three around her shivered in fear and stared at her like she was a devil rather than a goddess.
Is Hestia’s power trip an effect of Michael? Or has she always been like this, but only with people she is comfortable with?
“Please come back soon Mikey… This is too much…” Bell whimpers painfully as Hestia begins setting the plates with a grin.
“Are you going to join us Syr?” Hestia asks while turning to the disguised goddess as Freya blinks and shakes her head with a sheepish smile.
“Ah, I already ate before coming here. I just wanted to drop this off before leaving.” Hestia makes a sound of disappointment but doesn’t complain any more than that. “Though I may have forgotten some… clothing in Michael’s room the last time I was here, please excuse me as I retrieve that.”
Hestia froze with a large blush as Syr slowly made her way to the stairs, the short goddess grumbling a few seconds later. Lefiya on the other hand suddenly seemed horrified as she stared at Syr with an atomic blush and fury in her eyes.
Oops. It seems she may have enraged Mikey’s little student by ‘stealing’ her crush. Oh well, she sure hopes he doesn’t try to punish her for that when he returns.~
Freya quickly makes her way to Michael’s room and enters, closing the door behind her as silently as she can. She swiftly locks the door before slowly turning around and staring at the bed.
… This is it. This is her way of coping with her lack of Michael for the foreseeable future.
She needs to act rationally here- MIKEY’S SCENT!
Freya jumps into the bed and grabs the blankets and pillows into a hug, grinding against the bed with a small blush as she giggled perversely.
Oh, she could steal all of his clothes! She wonders if he has any used brushes around… perhaps even a toothbrush…
Freya rolled around in the bed while breathing heavily, her hands straying down her body in excitement as she gulped and felt her throat grow dry.
Perhaps Mikey’s absence won’t be as unbearable as she previously thought it to be…
She wonders how her Mikey is doing right now…
[Michael POV]
Michael stares at the pile of corpses laid around him in every inch of his vision, sitting on a misshapen rock as he stares at the ground with dull eyes.
Why did he have to deal with all this bullshit? He could've been in a beach episode, basking in the sun, yet here he is.
Why are we still here? Just to suffer… Every night, I can feel-

Lmao have this little Omake I’ve cooked up as an apology for the lack of content in the past month. It may be canon, but it may not be. Depends on how badly I fucked up the timeline since I made this on a whim at 3 am.
I had the idea when I was still fine, so it’ll probably be fine. Whether it’s canon or not will only be known to me though, Schrodinger’s Canon, if you will. Have fun and enjoy this early little gift for the weekend from your favorite Overlord :D

Kinda hypocritical since Michael literally houses an entity with just as many, if not more kills. People do need to remember that Edias is the same dungeon that made the three great quest monsters and kills hundreds of adventurers every week.
