I just love all the Gaylor discourse

Hi Shannon, big fan! But in terms of lavender Gate, if you're going to say that we need to see all sides then I would have expected the same energy calling out all swifties who jumped on it as an excuse to air out some serious homophobia. Regardless of Taylors sexuality or what she said (I really don't think she meant anything specific with the weird rumours comment) if she is going to call herself an ally then a tweet or literally anything denouncing homophobia between fans is the bare minimum. I thought you would agree and have seen everything that went down as more silence from Taylor. Especially considering you were so strongly against her performative activism in your chat with Be There in Five. Anyway I still love the pod and hopefully on Friday we can all just enjoy the music 💜

Caitlin Jenner killed someone in a car accident where she was negligent

if you google it, apple was named apple just because steve jobs liked apples. they also wanted to be high up in the phone book. the bite in the apple is just so people wouldn’t think it was a cherry
Amanda Russell
So true. The Winona shoplifting story is iconic for some reason yet Chris Brown beats up another arguably much more famous celebrity and all is forgotten

I’m dieing to hear GoT or HotD blinds!! I’m simping too hard for Matt Smith. I need to be brought down to earth.

She isn’t an ally she’s bisexual and people in the LGBT community can have their own opinions. I also don’t think all people who disagree with more radical gaylors are homophobic
Deirdre Cronin
It’s not holier than thou just because you don’t agree with her

Love your Taylor take. I agree it can be a lot, everything being viewed through the gaylor lens. I love the gaylor community and I’m a gaylor myself but there are extremists that read into everything. Of course I understand the lavender stuff being queer and it’s weird Taylor co opts queer stuff all the time. But I disagree with folks here saying you’re siding with the homophones or ranting. You’re giving a totally measured take and I agree with you. Keep talking about what you want, it’s the best version of your content when you’re passionate. ❤️

Shannon, the lavender connections to queerness run MUCH deeper than lavender marriages. it is a really important part of our history & I’d appreciate it if we could avoid dismissing that. I understand that many gaylors overreacted to the “weird rumors” comment but it is perfectly valid for us to be frustrated with her giving lavender to straight people. There are extremists in every group & I also get annoyed at ppl who think every single thing she does is about queerness, but lavender? Be serious. Tbh I find it odd that you’re defending her over queer ppl. Her homophobic fans took that IG reel as a green light to harass gaylors…it just simply isn’t ally behavior
Beth
yeah it’s like heavily used throughout queer history especially in the US

I’ve never missed an episode and have loved this podcast but please Shannon be aware of the amount of endless ranting/rambling you’ve been doing lately. This Taylor Swift rant was so holier than thou and pointless. Could’ve been a 30 second point to make at the end but it felt you put more into that than the actual meat of the podcast. The same last week with the Try Guys rant.

Chelsea did not date 50 Cent in high school. That was later in life.
natalie
50 Cent and Chelsea didn’t date in high school, they dated in 2010. She did get pregnant in high school but it was a different guy, he was in her special Evolution.

Never heard any of that about Mark 🤦♀️

Would Ariana and the donut incident count as dining and dashing? Also, some of the crimes from the past are somewhat legal now, like shoplifting ($950 or less is not considered a big deal in California now, or smoking pot for that matter). It's amazing how things change and maybe Amanda or Winona wouldn't have had their lives interrupted as much. I think Shannon is right about the inequity between the male versus female "crimes" and the blowback for what they did. What about Gwyneth Paltrow and her lifting of the Shakespeare in Love script? If true, how is that much different than shoplifting? I'm just curious. . .

Lynne spears also is a member of the celebrities who have killed someone in a car accident club

Just want to point out that lavender is definitely a queer term, outside of the “lavender marriage” thing. But of course we don’t own it and anyone is free to use it!

Fluezzies shut the fuck up

This was a great episode! My dad used to race/ride motorcycles with Woody Harrelson’s brother Brett (who tried acting but never made it big). He had a bit of a theft problem. Once he stole a car from my grandma’s friend, and tried hiding it in our backyard lol
Shannon McNamara
OH omg....there we go! It's truly just an apple! Who would have thought
Noelle
I’m so glad you disregarded our poll and gave us a healthy mix LOL Shannon knows best💕

Did not know that about Chelsea handler and 50 cent!

Yes! PLEASE do a snoop/martha episode!

The Macintosh name was conceived in 1979, when Apple employee Jef Raskin envisioned an easy-to-use, low-cost computer for the average consumer, and wanted to name the computer after his favorite type of apple, the McIntosh (/ˈmækɪnˌtɒʃ/ MAK-in-tosh).
