Ok quick thought here: that line in “It’s Time to Go” about the guy asking for the check & how he insists that friends look at each other like that….i wonder if that is about her and Matty. I always thought ITTG was talking about moments that were all negative, but making that like about temptation puts an interesting spin on it for me.

My brain is too fried for more thoughts but I think Taylor has written enough about affairs over the past few albums to prove to me that she loves a lil affair. From her songs it seems like she doesn’t like a relationship that feels comfortable and safe and would rather chase the danger!

I’m late but the stubborn part of me refuses to let maroon be about a man 😂 though if it really is about Matt or Joe I think karlie was playing into it… like her showing up in a maroon dress, a color that is not nearly as common as many other shades of red, a week after midnights, was insane of her!! To me at least

omg for “Slut!”, there are mentions of neon lights — don’t some of The 1975 early album covers feature neon lights? (not a huge fan but remember them from the tumblr days) and wasn’t MH/the band supposed to be credited as collaborators on that specific song (the target printing error)

I always thought "tattoo kiss" in "cardigan" refers to the hickey not the real tattoos. also, in "Down Bad" Taylor says "waking up in blood " and in the "cardigan" it's "You drew stars around my scars But now I'm bleeding" I think Chloe or Sam.. is definitely about Matty: - As the decade would play us for fools (they met in 2013-2014) - You needed me but you needed drugs more (the reason it didn't work out initially) - And you have some kids with an internet starlet (again about the internet starlet); But many songs on TTPD give the vibe of being about multiple things at the same time. For example, "The smallest man" feels like being about Matty in the first verse, but the bridge can be also about Scott or Scouter.
