Random question about Taylor swift and her tour schedule. I noticed in Europe she has about 5 days in between shows/countries she is performing in. It basically is like that from now through August. That is an awkward amount of time between shows. Does this mean that she quickly flies back to New York and then back to Europe again in between? Even with her private jet that seems like a whole lot of time to be flying. On the flip side just staying continuously in Europe for 4 months seems excessive and not like something she would do.

I kinda disagree about Swiftyneutral . I think the sub is triggering for people who like to lick Taylor’s asshole up and down which is a good chunk of her stans. don’t get me wrong, There are definitely some mean posts here and there, but for the most part, it was people just not kissing her ass , which I don’t think there’s anything wrong with. They actually ended up having to private their subreddit because the swifties were coming in and infiltrating it and going to literal war over Taylor anytime someone would post something. so it kinda created a toxic environment of people fighting each other. took the fun out of it though

Also I feel like in addition to musicians and podcasters a lot of YouTubers got standoms. The parasocial relationships for YouTubers used to be so crazy, hell they probably still are! Especially vloggers where even if they were showing small snippets of their day it could feel like their entire life to the audience.

I feel like two parts of why swifties feel so connected to Taylor are that she’s made a huge part of her celebrity the speculation, whether it be album drop dates, who the lyrics are about.. etc, as well as the I’m just like you!! Narrative she loves. I think btb has really helped me separate celebrities from their public images. It’s what they want us to see. Plus sooooo many headlines are quotes taken out of context!!

Loved this episode! I think stan culture is fascinating and scary. There are a couple of famous people, mostly musicians, that I really love, but I can’t stand how stans never want to have nuanced and critical conversations about their faves. It’s so boring and very hive minded. You can dislike a song someone puts out and still be a fan, you know.
