i have a friend who works at an elementary school and they said that these kids are going around joking about going to "diddy party" and "the diddler." i think it's absolutely insane because obviously kids don't know what they're saying, they are just regurgitating what they see online. and if that's the general discourse online, how sad that we can't have a serious discussion about the abuse that happened, the only way the general public knows how to respond is by making fun of it, like you said hopping on a witch hunt. but it's more than a witch hunt it's mocking something real that happened so people don't have to deal with the discomfort.

Rhino horns are made of keratin (same as human hair and finger nails) and trace minerals, which does not have any scientific backing as an aphrodisiac or much of anything. Most of the harvested animals parts are the same/very similar connective tissues and proteins as humans… not much scientific backing in their heath claims. So any repeat buyers would be placebo effect / cultural ect. Leave animals alone 😅

Loved this episode. Poaching is a really hard thing to talk about but it desperately needs awareness brought to it. I think a lot of people think that poaching slows down as time goes on, when in unfortunately its the opposite.

My in-laws are super right wing, and it's weird how they almost seem giddy to talk about it like it's proving something in a political way. But they also ignore when the same acts are committed by other people they like? It's very strange and seems sensationalized and honestly has made me like not want to talk about it at all if that makes sense. Like obviously I believe the victims and think he did horrible things, but it almost feels better to give the victims the privacy of just not letting it be something to gossip about.

i was talking with my friend about the chappell roan thing yesterday, and we both came to the same consensus that no one had an issue with people who said they were voting for biden but didn’t like it. its literally the same administration minus one guy that were voting for. i feel like people are putting their energy in wrong place with her, i think they should turn it on actual politicians, and maybe also themselves. regardless, i think this kind of conversation will go no where until people realize there’s no such thing as a good politician. nihilistic? probably, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still good that can be done.

The Chappel Roan discourse is breaking my heart. Her heart is in the right place. She just can't put it into words that will make everyone happy. She's saying what I think a lot of people are feeling. Granted, I'm excited to vote for Harris but I don't in any way think she's perfect. My mom & stepdad are Q Anon oriented, they’re loving the narrative of “every celebrity being brought down” with Diddy. They’re thrilled about the idea of Beyonce being implicated, but actively deny that Trump was also connected. Although it’s good that Diddy is being held accountable, it really seems to bolster Q Anon in an already tense political environment that yes, there is a conspiracy of elites abusing children in Hollywood. They refuse to believe Trump is anything but a warrior fighting for the children, and cling to any narrative that Beyoncé is a demon that eats children & their souls 🙄
