As far as eels on the fossil record, it looks like the oldest eel fossil we have is ~100 million years old. They're also placed on the phylogenetic tree, which means we can pretty well trace their evolution! 😁 eels are not our proof for aliens🥲😅

I recently got diagnosed with sleep apnea and blue cross blue shield repeatedly denied my sleep study. not just that they wouldn’t pay for it, they said i couldn’t have it done AT ALL. i didn’t even know that was a thing insurance companies can do! after nearly a year of getting a diagnosis i still haven’t gotten any proper treatment. im 22 and “healthy” and very few doctors have taken my condition seriously so the ceo’s death feels like justice to me

also- fuck our healthcare system. my family lost their home in my teens because my mom got a idiopathic brain disease. the bills were too much and my dad had taken off so much work to be in the hospital and care for her just for her to still have no relief or diagnosis 10 years later. they still haven’t been able to come back from it financially and now live with other family members. i feel so grateful for life but it’s hard not to resent the country we live in some days. seeing your family suffer then struggle financially so severely we become homeless is enough to lose all morality. sending love to anyone who has experienced a health crisis personally or had a family member struggle
