It's never confirmed, but based on Ickshonpe being number 6 and "I" being the 6th letter of "Greed Island" along with the spell card shop in Masadora looking a lot like his mask, complete with ears and the eyes looking in different directions, it's speculated that he was one of the people who helped Ging make the game.
