You guys should check out Masters of the Universe. It came out in 1987 with Dolph Lundgren as He-Man. Really great movie, I think you guys will love it. There was also another series of movies I thought of I can't remember.

Psyched you're doing "Forbidden Planet"!!!! PS: Don't let it bug you that people are complaining about the lineup. Some weeks you get what you want, and others you don't. You can't please everybody. In general, I wish reaction channels wouldn't get so hung up on sequels that are almost always inferior studio cash-ins, but when you've got thousands of people giving you titles and half of them are telling you that you "must" watch the crappy Part 2s and 3s of beloved classics, how are you supposed to know? You do a great job mixing it up and hitting different styles, and I love your channel/reactions. I'm certainly not unsubscribing because a week or two of stuff might not be to my personal taste.

"Cliffhanger" is such a good movie. New Patreon supporter here, longtime YouTube subscriber. I'm Jay Emm on YouTube BTW. Another really good movie with Stallone is "Nighthawks". It's an older film from 1981, but it's about international terrorism and co-stars Billy Dee Williams and Rutger Hauer. Hauer plays the villain and it's eerily relevant to the modern era. Very good suspense/thriller.

I came to know “Fantastic Planet” by way of another film you should check out called “The Cell”, from 2000. It’s a sci-fi psychological thriller starring Vince Vaughn, Jennifer Lopez, and Vincent D’onofrio, kinda like “Silence Of The Lambs” crossed with “The Matrix”. Visually incredible. You all would love it.

I’ve never seen “Forbidden Planet”, but check out “Fantastic Planet” sometime. It’s a really bizarre, animated sci-fi film from the 1960s, I believe. The animation style alone is worth looking at.

I can understand I guess. I mean I'm not a fan of Midnight Mass and some of the other stuff here but I have the exact opposite opinion. I really love the focus on Karate Kid and the 80s/90s action films. It's really refreshing to folks from a different generation enjoying these old classics and that's the whole reason I became a Patron. Not only that but it's really helping me through a breakup. I'm not a fan of a lot of the stuff like I really don't like Dexter: New Blood though I'm a huge fan of Dexter. I just don't like what they did. Some of other stuff too like I dunno Contact for instance.. but There's a lot I do love, and I can tell there's gonna be a lot more stuff I love by how they are responding to the stuff they've already put out that I love. But I think this is a great channel.

It's just a synopsis of both films? All I said is the setup and I'm pretty sure the trailer MUST show something about the monastery in it? And it's obvious that a reboot is going to be mostly like the original but with new characters? I usually hate when they do reboots or remakes and they screw it up. I can't think of any other reboot that's actually any good because they usually change everything or just ruin it. But if even stuff that you'd see in trailers is or first few minutes of the movie (plot setup) is considered a spoiler generally I will edit the comment. I feel like I have a different idea of what spoilers are than most people. Is a spoiler considered to be absolutely anything at all that occurs in the movie?

I wouldn’t wait to watch those before watching Cobra Kai but I think those are definitely worth watching. Julie Pierce might appear in Cobra Kai at some point and the one with Will Smith’s son is really nice. Maybe it’s because I love wushu, but the good thing about that one is they didn’t say “this is Daniel LaRusso and Miyagi” they’re entirely different characters and the parallels and callouts are truly in the vein of Karate Kid. You can see this in Cobra Kai with the many different ballots callouts to the original movies. I can’t give examples coz they would be spoilers. But there’s stuff that happens in Cobra Kai that you’re like omg that’s exactly how it happened in Karate Kid. It’s a bit silly that it’s called Karate Kid when it’s Kung Fu but that’s Hollywood :) Don’t get me wrong though. There’s no reason to watch either of these before Cobra Kai but I would watch The Next Karate Kid sooner than later just to finish out the Miyagi story.
