I appreciate the clarification. Thanks man. Yeah in one of my messages to the channel owners I lamented the lack of an “ignore button”. A simple “ignore button” and all this drama(which I admit I’m partly to blame for by putting it out there), could’ve been avoided. It’s something Patreon should consider for sure

Stan, I realize saying "be less fragile" can come across as flippant, especially when the two of us don't know each other. But if there's one thing I've learned in all my years online, it's that nasty disagreements can blow up out of nowhere over the topics of music, movies, and tv and I used to take the bait like a sucker all the time. One day, I realized the absurdity of doing that, focused on thickening my skin, and just bailed on any crummy interaction that developed. 1) It preserved my sanity. 2) Ignoring someone who's trying to rile you only ruins their day even more. So when I say "be less fragile," it's intended as good advice. I realize you can't block other users here like you can on Twitter or Facebook and that makes it harder to ignore them because you keep wanting to go back and see if anything new happened. However, I promise you that if you remove yourself from a confrontation you'll forget all about it long before the other person will. My condolences re: your sister. Sometimes bullying gets VERY bad, and that's obviously not what I'm talking about here.

I sympathize with you guys having to deal with the occasional outburst of drama. Have you thought about finding a mod? @LKO Actually other members have reached out to me to say they’ve had issues with this user & that they reported it to Sam & Dan. So I’m really not sure where they are getting this “it’s the first time” but whatever. I don’t know where else you go but plenty of Patreon have a zero tolerance policy on bullying and name calling. Cinebinge is an example that comes to mind. And again. It wasn’t as if this just happened once. This user did this over a series of replies and this really only escalated to here in the public because I felt others should know what to expect if they ever message Dan and Sam with an issue. It started out cordial and nice but then Sam let loose with the false equivalency, lying, gaslighting, victim blaming. I even said in my message to her, I hesitate to call myself a victim. I’m not. But the term for what you are doing? Is victim blaming and next time this happen you may actually get someone who feel they have are victim so try to deal with this in a better way. She gave No apology, no explanation. Just said made stuff up. My subscription was ending so I said screw it. These people need to know. I expect people to defend them. That’s cool. But I felt this was warranted. It’s funny that they say I’m attacking their character. But all I did was tell the truth. Nothing I said didn’t happen. And if that’s attacking their character? By telling the truth? Guilty as charged.

Yep. And I was fine with all of that. I was cool with them not banning buddy, I disagreed with it. But it’s their channel, their rules. I said as much. But then they decided to say I did things I didn’t do, defend the guy for calling names. And yes. This is the internet. But I pay a fee every month and I expect that undue name calling(and not harmless ball breaking) over and over and over and over is not something I’m going to put up with and neither should anyone else. It’s not about being fragile. It’s about respect. You can disagree with someone and break balls but when shit starts to get weird and personal? Nah. They defended that. And if you disagree with me? No I said my subscription is coming to an end. And I’m commenting because they are lying. I take issue with that. I will continue to respond until the subscription ends, which I believe is the first. Frankly, I regret having to make this public. But after the messages they sent me included falsehoods and gaslighting I thought I needed to let others know here. First of all. This is ridiculous. And extremely unprofessional. The way you characterize things is flat out wrong. in some cases you are telling half truths or out right lying. At no point have you mentioned ANYONE reached out to you to complain about me. This is the first time. You mentioned heated conversation, I asked for an example so I could reflect on it and improve my disposition. You didn’t. You couldn’t give me one example. You are also saying I am taking no responsibility for what happens with the user. Again, you are victim blaming. Comparing a show to Burger King and having someone call me a prick, loser, asshole and a douchebag? Really? You maybe think those two things dont equal out? I did not call the show bad. I did not invalidate his show. I compared to to a fast food restaurant. (The show was Son of Anarchy). And since you are now saying my messages have caused you stress, I feel like I should maybe copy and paste them so others can see for themselves? Ultimately I won’t since I don’t want to cause anymore stress but I feel like I should since the mischaracterizing is pretty heinous. I was not hostile towards you. Totally off topic, but I’d love if you guys did some John Hughes movies from the 80s. Ferris Bueller, Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Sixteen Candles. Maybe you’ve already seen them and that’s why you haven’t done many of them but they’re my favorites. Hope you’re doing well and I have lots of other suggestions for tv shows and movies if you ever need them!

And now adding just from me, the comments on this post supporting and sympathizing with someone accusing us of gaslighting and victim blaming is disheartening to say the least. I will be discussing with Daniel after work whether we decide to leave the comments on on patreon at all moving forward considering I am solely responsible for responding to comments here. Additionally, I will be taking a step back from the platform due to the stress I've been undergoing dealing with Stan's messages and comments over the last week or so. My doctor was not happy with baby's heart rate today and I needed to be monitored.
