ETFs are like a basket of stocks having something all in common putting them all together in the same basket. So you have multiple portions of stocks in the same basket each stock has something in common with the others, but they all are different to0 in some way which allows you to have a more of a diverse portfolio. So if one stock in the basket is doing poorly the other stocks will limit your risk.

Doesn’t matter much if you’re just investing ( assuming they’re credible). Robinhood is the most beginner friendly. If you end up trading which is more risky, then certain platforms have pros and cons.
