Carvera CNC unboxing and first use - Rough cut
🕑 Added 2022-12-29 21:05:34 +0000 UTCI was given a Carvera CNC mill by Makera to review - and I'm pretty psyched about it. We're still working on tightening this up, and I think I'm going to add a new conclusion with more thoughts since I've played with it more while we were editing this, so now I have lots more thoughts and opinions:)
This will be posted to the second channel, Stranger Parts (http://youtube.com/strangerparts) in the next week or so.
If you want one of your own, go to strangeparts.com/carvera. That's an affiliate link that will help support Strange Parts. And it's 20% off right now. That being said, I do genuinely like this thing, and am already using it on several projects...

Wow ... looks very similar to the Carvey (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/carvey/carvey-the-3d-carving-machine-for-the-maker-in-all) which I've been super happy with. Wondering if the same folks were involved in the Carvera design?

Wow, that CNC machine is very cool! And Vimeo seems to have a lot less compression artifacts than YouTube; so that's a bonus. I know it's a rough cut; but this was a great video! Kept my attention from beginning to end.

I don’t remember offhand, but it’s in the electronics tools at http://kit.co/strangeparts!

I kinda want to get one, but dont have space to put a desk-esque cnc machine

What is the name of the vice you used when soldering your PCB? It seemed super handy and when you were able to easily flip it over i realized my helping hands kit is just not good enough lol

Definitely need to not breathe that stuff. A friend of mine is permanently brain damaged due to this.

Not going to lie, same boat here.

This seems like such a neat machine, so many capabilities in such a small form factor! Looking forward to see what you can do with it!

Neat machine and great demonstration. I expected an exhaust system while soldering. Happy New Year,

I kinda want one now
