Yes! This one should go up this weekend.

Carl Trimble

Are these videos ever going to make it to YouTube? I want to share this video with a few friends but can’t…

Ed Matthews

Awesome! I love these !

Ramon

That's so awesome! I love the ingenuity of these old vending machines, making the best of the available technologies back then. I was also in Japan during the same time and loved digging through the various electronic stores in Akihabara and Den-Den town.

Yes it was nuts. They also wanted to buy whatever we would sell. I ended up selling my Members Only jacket for 50 rubles (about $50 at the time) but then there was almost nothing to buy with the money which was worthless elsewhere and couldn’t be exchanged. Sigh.

Scotty Allen

That sounds amazing!

loved this video, this stuff is fascinating :D definitely better than disneyworld, though i'm kind of fond of fuji-q :)

Olaf Rühenbeck

I love that you are traveling again. I kinda feel its a part of you personality you were missing during the pandemic and ensuing health problems. :o) So happy

When I visited the USSR around 1983 (don't know the year, I was about 14), they had these vending machines on the streets that sold a sort of lemonade. But the crazy thing was that the glasses were real glasses...made of glass. You would put in a coin, then take the glass and turn it upside down and press it down on this sort of pad thing, which would trigger it to spray water up into the glass, supposedly cleaning it. Then you would turn it over and get your drink. When you were done drinking you left the glass there. These were all over, it was the norm.

Wow that's so awesome. Thanks for the video!

Oh my god, I'm so hyped for the new season of Jet Lag. The crossover we never knew we needed, but needed nevertheless.

Scotty Allen

Yes, this is on the outskirts of Tokyo. I'm not sure exactly where to be honest - John was driving 😂. I'm sure his video will have the location once it comes out on Youtube though.

Xavier Mirabelli-Montan

This is so cool Scotty! I definitely need to go to Japan. Where is this located? Near Tokyo? I just got back from vacation in Bulgaria and they had really coffee vending machines everywhere. Better yet the coffee was 45cents and actually okay!
