GUIDE: Getting Automatic Updates for Windows 2000
🕑 Added 2021-02-17 00:36:28 +0000 UTCTo get started we will need an Windows XP system that has been configured to receive automatic updates and the Windows 2000 system we are trying to update. Then we need to install the below updates
- Service Pack 4 and Update Rollup 1 for SP4
- Internet Explorer 6 SP1
- Root Certificate Update
- Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.226

Next, go to the XP system and run the proxy. The command prompt windows needs to stay open. Now lookup and record the IP address of the XP System
Back on the Windows 2000 system we need to add the below registry keys
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
add String Value "WUServer" with a value of "http://{IP ADDRESS FROM XP SYSTEM]:8530/?"
add String Value "WUStatusServer" with a value of "http://{IP ADDRESS FROM XP SYSTEM]:8530/?"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU
add DWORD "UseWUServer" with a value of 1
With the proxy still running on the XP system we can now open the Windows Update Mini Tool on the Windows 2000 system and check for updates. If successful we will have a list of available updates to install

can u give me w2000 extended kernel iso pls I've been fucking with this for a few days and I can't do any krnl extend since blackwingcat doesn't work for me idk why. i need windows xp drivers to work on windows 2000 ?
