Good Evening from my side of the world beloved readers. It's your favourite (probably not), author here for our periodic Q&A session. Where I do most of the asking of questions and you guys help me with possible solutions to my problems.
Without wasting much time, I have Three Questions to ask.
Question 1. How is the story going for you so far?
The Internship arc is nearly completed so I wanted feedback on how you feel about it.
Question 2. I .... Honestly forgot what I wanted to ask. But it'll probably return to me as I keep writing this so let's move on.
Question 3. The Hosu/Stain arc is wrapping up, and I want to be transparent about where the story is heading because it's going to diverge significantly from canon.
I believe I have spent a long enough time fleshing out Yuta and his character motivations, personality and interactions with others. And now that we're 100+ chapters in (Primarily due to my low word count, I admit but still), it's time to give it a shove away from Canon.
Now the Question for you all:
This story is titled "My Mangekyo Sharingan Can't Save My Hero Academia" - and I've realized that to truly explore that premise, Yuta can't just be another U.A. student going through the canon arcs with slight modifications.
I mean, sure, I killed overhaul and ruined the Shie Hassaikai arc in advance, the MC saved Ingenium, and there are currently a few plot threads that show canon diversity, but it's not really that different yet.
The story needs to go in a direction where:
The MS actually matters (I've only used it once in 100+ chapters)
The conflict is more substantial than school exams
Yuta's position in hero society becomes more complicated than just another awkward teenager trying to juggle life.
For me personally, I never intended to write, MHA with some changes and another character that makes beating Tomura Shigaraki during the final war easier.
This means upcoming chapters will feature:
Significant time skip via plot device
Major status quo changes
Yuta's relationship with U.A. and the hero system evolving in unexpected ways
Resolution of the Eri subplot in a dramatic way
And a few more changes most of you might or might not expect.
For me personally, the upcoming arcs are boring, easy to predict and still follow the same structured framework MHA has.
I as the author, do not want to write that.
So I'm asking: Are you here for an MHA story that heavily diverges from canon, or do you prefer I keep following the station of canon more closely?
Because I'm planning to take this story in a direction that's much more "inspired by MHA" than "follows MHA with additions."
Let me know your thoughts.

I like the route you're going, I just hope Yuta faces the consequences of being a Vigilante using his clones while being a hero at the same time. That'll certainly spice things up lol

Honestly? I’m glad you aren’t sticking close to the main plot. The whole point of fanfiction is to add onto the source material. As for any problems I’m having, it’d probably be the title in all honesty. Is the story intended to have a depressing end? Because I feel like having the MS and Chakra in a world as low down on the power scaling side of things is a bit overkill. The strongest in the verse isnt taking on this guys absurd MS ability either. I cant stress enough how quickly hes gonna close make a gap between himself and the rest of the verse with a power like his.

You do you but can you make a reference to mha vigilantes if possible and please continue the rematch with bakugo and todoroki also I'd really like it if aizawa stayed his mentor since there so similar not just because nejire said it in the previous chapter, they get along pretty well I think he's a great mentor to yuta and it'd be waste to not explore that a bit more.If your gonna explore the MS more make sure you do the side effects too like the bleeding eyes and stuff don't let it turn out like the limitless one before MC needs to be strong sure but struggle to be confident but not cocky we've had enough of those mcs

I think so far the story is going well although it does stagnate a little bit between arcs but not to an extent that it’s annoying or boring maybe just my personal feeling, so take that with a pinch of salt. I think it is better to diverge from the main story but not sure to what extent, because I feel that some people would be curious about the “slice of life” part of MHA, not me personally. Not sure if there is a silver lining between your plans and the canon but if you can maybe try to balance it out, I leave that to you cause I am fine with anything, I don’t care much about the canon. Question: do you plan on including the Movies too, I think it would be cool to include them in some way. Overall, story is good and looking forward to see what you cook up next👍. (Kinda sad to see so many people get upset over his previous hero name, I was actually okay with it but the current one isn’t bad either, it’s just ‘people these days’ 😑.)

Diverging from the story sounds good for me cause pretty much ever since the Eri story, little by little the story should start to diverge like a butterfly effect, like almost winning the sports festival with the whole thing with shoto not fighting deku, to the hosu incident happening earlier.

Write what you want to write. Take the route of an inspired story and have fun cooking. The general society issues in MHA were not explored enough and could create a beautiful story.
