In Korea idols are not really that popular or respected amongst the general public except for very few, Also this neighbourhood consisted of only old and rich people who own companies like Hyundai or Samsung and older people have no knowledge of idols. But currently, even old people know who bts is because they are on the news all the time but most people still might know the names of all the members. When the South Korean president met bts he only knew jungkook, jin and rm from the group. P.S- The old guy with glasses is one of the most popular and respected celebrities in SK

Family dinners are very common in Asia. Especially dinner... We eat dinner with our family everyday.. If we are getting late others wait until we reach home for dinner... This culture is still prevalent and alive in entire Asia....

I’m pretty sure that nowadays there’s no one in Korea who doesn’t know who BTS are. This video is probably when DNA was released so they were already big but still not huge among the public i think. It’s a bit after that that they blew up internationally and domestically. their DNA era was just the beginning for them.

And to clarify they were pretty popular, if you were a kpop fan. Nowadays their popularity is way beyond that. Now people have heard of BTS even if they aren’t Kpop fans. And they weren’t on that level yet in 2017.

I’m only half way through the reaction as I comment this but I believe this was in 2017. They were pretty successful already by then. I think the neighborhood they were in wasn’t really their target demographic lol
