Should I continue to gate my content?
🕑 Added 2017-11-10 17:52:25 +0000 UTC I had originally planned on gating my content in order to help promote my Patreon page but to be honest I'm on the fence about it. It has also been pointed out by multiple supporters here that they frankly don't care if I gate the content or not and a few have even said they prefer that I don't.So, as you all have been so kind as to help support my channel financially, I thought I would let you all ultimately have a say in whether to continue that idea or to abandon it and just keep putting out videos for everyone as I had before. To that end, I've set up a brief straw poll for everyone.

Only use gating if it suits you in some way. Personally I do not need or want you to gate videos on my account. I make my small contribution to support your work, not to gain leverage or privileges; and definitely not to obstruct or delay release of content.
I suggest time-gating non-news videos. Like, if it's just you messing around and being "out of character", then sure, give them to Patrons first. But if the video is actual 'SidAlpha' things and reporting on issues with developers and publishers, then release it to everyone immediately. Just my two cents.
