Mega and I had a matching source. And when it comes to insects swarms are a very common, in that game they mention they hide as items and wait for the trap to trigger. As for your Parasite I had in mind that this one and the mind link would share a host or fight each other. But I never got the idea you where heading for.

I believe it's called "house of pandemonium". There's different version of it but 2 of them is basically like an escape the manor while trying surviving waves of monster girls and some monsters that will convert you. The monster insect i'm talking about is in the 3d version.

In one indie game, there's a parasite thay latch onto a victim first at the legs then arms. The 5th one will latch onto the spine and head along the back. The 1st 4 will slow the victim and even prevent certain action for the arm while the 5th parasite will overide the victim's will and control the body. Simce it's external, it can be torn away from the victim. Other parasites might do different things due to their species. You already got a straight mind dominator parasite. Your new one can probably do the same thing as your 1st but it control everything below the head when it latched onto the body.

Are you saying that there are many parasitic-type monsters? I have some ideas in mind, at least in terms of how they could be used in games.
