Small V0.04 Delay, New Character Reveal
🕑 Added 2016-04-23 21:46:24 +0000 UTC Hey guys!I'll get the bad news out of the way up front. We need a few more days to finish up V0.04, so I'm projecting that around May 10 it will be ready. I'll be sure to update you on our progress though, as it may be before or slightly after that. We have to stick to Patreon's procedure of pledges being charged at the beginning of the month, so that means that pledges still have to be in by around April 29 (to be safe) when the paid post goes live. Pledges will still be charged around May 1.
Progress is actually going great, it's just that there are more remaining art assets required than I can accomplish in the remaining days before May 1 (even working 18 hour days). I'm down to having to finish a couple of sets of sprite animations, a few more maps and random graphics, and from then on out it's basically balancing / filling the maps with items and loot / adding dialog (the framework for the events is already laid out, and the story artwork scenes are already in and "animated") / and finally testing. AltairPL is doing great on his end, as he's knocked out the coding for the (really big) puzzle area and has tackled pretty much every bug that he can until the map overhaul begins.
All of that being said, I figured showing off a new major character would soften the blow a bit. Her name is Ven, and I just finished up creating the final material presets and clothing fits for her 3D model earlier today. She's been through a few various designs over the past few months, so I'm glad to finally have her ready for V0.04. Just to be clear, Ven isn't a playable character, so you'll have to wait and see how she fits into the story!

Sorry again for the news about the delay on such short notice, but I wanted to have a ballpark date somewhat in focus before I put it out there. Expect more news on the release when the paid post goes live at the end of the month!

One of the things I'd love to do is to make an actual old school strategy guide for the game. If that happens it'd be way down the road though.

Question: as the game gets larger, is there a plan to build a new-user walkthrough or startup guide? It might help in bringing in new ongoing pledgers.

Really when you think about it: for those of us who jumped on around the time of the public demo, 0.04 will effectively be two major game updates, for the price of one. Another week wait is no big deal.
I don't mind waiting a bit more even I do really want to play it now ,but May 10!, My Final Exam almost start a few day after. So I probably skip playing it to when I finished my exam, so bad . However I'm here to encourage you not to hurry you up. I can wait. Don’t push yourself too much. Working 18 hrs./D that look quite hard. Good things will come with clear mind, relax and enough rest not stress and tied. Use your and other Imagination freely to our game, and just do your best! I’m looking forward to it. Thanks you and have a good work : ).

I admit I've been looking at the calendar every day, counting down to May 1. So I'm bummed that christmas will have to be delayed! That said, the additions you are describing are ambitious, and all of them are really exciting to have. Ven is quite yummy! Police? I'm interested to see how she works into the story, a damsel to be saved? Or a foe who's armor must be broken?

I am very impressed by this after reading your update and the two part interview I feel that a few more days to wait is definitely one I can survive. I am excited to see more of the story take place, and where Neon and Malise will head. Kinda interested to see if you guys really make a bad ass bad guy like final fantasy 7 sephiroth!!!!! most evil badass mofo in the evil people buisiness. So without further ado thanks for the warning and keep up the beautiful work. You still have my support.

Well, while I'm not -enthusiastic- about an additional wait time, I understand fully. That being said, I'm glad to hear that everything's going smoothly, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys came up with for the puzzle area. Aside from that, Ven looks great! Just based off of absolutely nothing, I'm going to suspect that she's an antagonist of some sort! And on closer inspection, she looks like she might be of a similar nature to Neon, as her legs look like they might be mechanical in nature.
Too bad Ven is an NPC, she looks very battle-worthy.

Only gripe about Ven is that I thought the zebra stripe pattern on the booty shorts would be placeholder instead of final, otherwise I really like how she turned out. Gotta love the purple hair.

First! And version .04 HYPE. I'm really looking forward to finally being able to play a larger portion of the game and see all your hard work put together. Things are really moving with the game and it shows. Can't wait!
