That's very true. The Kenshin movies are certainly an exception, not the general rule. By and large anime adaptations are very poor. I will say that the Japanese Death Note movies are actually pretty solid. The CGI is very dated, but the actual movie itself is pretty good. Particularly the first two. Alice in Borderlands is another solid anime adaptation.

I agree it’s earned so many sequels n spin offs cuz it’s doing so well, anime adaptions without crazy powers like one piece ,Jojo, etc should be easier to adapt, most times the adaptation graphics can’t meet the animation , looks terrible n cheap. Which is why the death note movie would have been an easy hit ! But Netflix manage to mess even that up , and let’s not talk about Avatar last air bender movie 🤮

I'm not really that in touch with other reactors or AoT community at large. But at least as far as Crunchyroll comments when these episodes were airing, the Gabi hate was usually a top 3 sentiment for a long time.

I don't know if you have mentioned somewhere, but Hollywood is doing an adaptation with Warner Bros. and Andy Muschietti (IT1 and IT2), after he finished Flash.

The Rurouni Kenshin movies are far better than "passable" adaptations. Frankly I think they're an overall improvement over the anime. I love the anime, but even through rose-tinted glasses, it was far from perfect. While the movies obviously had to cut a lot of good stuff, I think they more than make up for it with the amount of fat that was cut out as well. I think the movies benefitted a lot by honing in on the ptsd aspect of the story. Not to mention that the movies have significantly better action than the anime did. Hopefully we get the best of both worlds with the upcoming anime reboot.

I don't think I can bring myself to watch this movie hahah. Also I've been trying to predict Nerdy's spicy take for s4 and I decided the most unpopular and therefore likely option would be for him to become a huge Gabby fan.

Yah that’s facts, infact it’s the best and only good anime to live adaption I’ve seen . Everything else is garbage
