the writers said they didn't really want to address thinking AI, but there's plenty of AI in the expanse. It's the computers controlling the tug drones on the Nauvoo, or translating Bobbi's "forward" movement of a joystick to various thrusters etc.

Re: reaction content. That’s kinda something Adam Smith talked about way back in the 1750s. Everyone enjoys art/media the first time the watch it, but they also can get some vicarious joy from watching (or, in his example, reading poetry you’ve already read to someone new) someone experience that media for the first time. There’s a sympathetic human connection there.
