I still think the rumor that Henry Cavill approached Sanderson wanting to play Kaladin is wild. Sanderson had to demur on the basis that Kaladin is a very different race.

Given relative creative output, the probability that DragonSteel, Sanderson's company being larger than Disney in 60 years is no longer zero. I'm not saying it's at all likely, just that it's not zero anymore.

My understanding is the idea would be for Mistborn to be a movie trilogy and then Stormlight Archive as a streaming TV Series. Seems like the issue isn't money - according to Sanderson, they've worked with detailed budgets and offers from studios per Sanderson have been plenty to do the CGI required, which implies that it's the combination of budget and doing it the way Sanderson wants. "They're not used to dealing with Authors that don't need their money and can say no." from Sanderson. If Sanderson can raise $42 Million in a single kickstarter for books, I'm half expecting DragonSteel to just fund the first movie themselves. I do think live action everything Cosmere is coming, but it might be another 3-5 years (or even more) - in part because Sanderson has a lot invested in the first few projects being successful and he's got time to make sure it's done right - worth noting that Sanderson has sold close to 10x the number of books of the next fantasy author who hasn't had anything adapted yet.

Now that we know shardblades are spren: 1. Pattern and Shallan’s shardblade were never on screen together. 2. When Shallan was conjuring illusions to help Kaladin fight the chasmfiend, she thinks “it would be great if I could attach the illusions to Pattern, but that would be problematic because…” Then she gets distracted. But she was thinking she couldn’t attach illusions to Pattern because she had loaned him to Kaladin in shardblade form. 3. When Shallan was using her blade to dig a hole on the side of the chasm, it shrank into a knife shape to allow easier digging. So we’ve seen “live” shardblade change form well before Syl did it.

Regarding the syl death. Her reasoning was that she was "as dead as his oaths". Kaladin all but broke his oaths but since he was never beyond the point of no return, she could still live. Thats how I read it anyways
