Oh definitely a thinly veiled metaphor for a certain someone. The scene where Wick's sexual sin is unveiled and they all state their excuses for sticking by him anyways were exactly the same ones some Christians use to excuse the behavior of he-who-will-not-be-named. "We're with you and literally nothing you do or say will change that." (...or something to that effect.)

I've been away from actual church-y things (especially like Wicks) since at least 2016 For Reasons™, so elements of this didn't resonate with me as much on a religious level as it did political. Despite the religious trappings, to me Wicks felt more like a very thinly veiled metaphor for a, uh... certain major political figure. (He said oh so subtly.) Much like how Glass Onion's Miles Bron was clearly a reference to a certain rich dude. My favorite thing about this movie though was that they actually surprised me in the end. So many mysteries don't, and I thought I understood what all happened, until Martha's confession. It was also nice to know that not ALL of the group was in on it.

I am not sure if you caught it but when Benoit blanc gives his monologue in the altar he refers to Monsignor Jefferson as "laid to rest in the sealed tomb of his father." With the unimportant story of how she got pregnant and also how traumatized she seems to act combined with the climax ending with Martha acknowledging Grace's suffering I think we can infer a horrible truth about the lineage of Monsignor
