Patreon overcharged some people

I've done my best to refund everyone affected. If you think you were missed, or that I messed it up (e.g. 2 refunds instead of 3), let me know as soon as possible. But I think things are more or less okay now. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE set your monthly cap to 4 charged posts or fewer, to prevent this from happening in the future. I don't charge more than 4 videos in a month, so the only way there will be more charged posts than that is if Patreon bugs out again.

As I mentioned in my video posts, when I posted 3 of them the first time, they didn't show up anywhere on the site, so I had to repost them and hope Patreon wouldn't double-charge people. Well, they did double charge, even though the posts don't show up anywhere, even now. It's as if those first posts don't exist, even when I look for them with the creator tools, but somehow they still exist in Patreon's back end in whatever way makes Patreon charge for them. You probably can't see anything other than the 4 correctly-charged posts, and neither can I. So if this affected you, please be aware that it's Patreon nonsense that caused it, and also that we'll get it sorted out. You may be able to refund yourself (not sure), but if not, let me know and I can refund you. I'll delay my payout by a couple days to make sure I have enough in my account to refund anyone who asks within the next couple days, and then deal with the later ones as needed.
P.S. Just in case this happens again, please set your monthly cap for the number of videos you want to support! The people with monthly caps won't have been charged for the invisible posts.
P.P.S. I filed a bug report with Patreon. Judging from their responses to my past bug reports (yes, plural), I doubt they'll do anything, and probably just add more bugs instead.
P.P.P.S. I tried going through the list of charges to figure out who to refund, but Patreon gives such astonishingly poor tools for this (for example, no filtering by monthly cap or number of charges) that I barely managed to get anywhere. I refunded a few people, but it feels like walking in mud with Patreon's terrible, terrible tools. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS AFFECTED YOU. I'll refund you immediately once I see the message.
P.P.P.P.S. Man, I hope this doesn't happen again next month.

I assume so. At least it shows all 3 refunded. Kinda hard to tell what's actually deducted from me, considering I had to refund well over 100 people.

That sounds so much like Patreon lately. Just like the posts, just like DMs, just like every aspect of the site since the downgrades. Website says it's done, email notification says it's done, and it's not done. I can't help with that, since everything I can do is done (I just have a refund button, and that's it). You might want to contact Patreon support, or maybe Paypal support (but I'd bet on Patreon).

I am so confused. I have 3 emails saying that I got refunds, but my PayPal balance only ended up with 2 refunds. So I allegedly got 3, but I have no idea where the 3rd went? It’s definitely not in my PayPal…

Just so you are aware, you mention that you posted three videos which didn’t show up so you posted them again. Well, on that day I received 6 email notifications of videos (obviously three videos twice). However all the links worked and took me to the correct videos. Strange that you cannot find them…
Agreed. Thank you, Logicked, for being so proactive. It sucks that Patreon is causing a problem that will impact you and your subscribers when you didn't do anything.

I don't see an extra charge on my end. Just the original monthly unless it will do it again in couple days. Anyway, I'm not worried about it. I'll keep an eye out so I can move money around Incase of potential for overdraft. But again I'm not worried since you made me aware. Keep the extra.

You and me both. I don't charge more than 4 posts a month, so having people cap it where they want it prevents problems for everyone involved.

Good - I'll do that for whoever else I can find. The tools Patreon gives creators to resolve issues like this are abysmal. There's no way to filter for things like monthly caps, number of posts charged, etc. I really hope people let me know, because I'm not going to be able to find them all.

Wow that sucks, I got like 6 emails about videos and was surprised when I got to the last ones and they were the same. Sometimes I feel guilty I set a cap at 3 but I guess this time it helped me out.
