Volcanic Caverns Go Angular

For at least a year, I've been noodling on why I'm not a huge fan of the approach that has been taken generally towards caverns, and a big piece to me was that caverns needed to be able to go off in any direction. Well, that idea has been banging around in my mind for a long time, and now I finally decided to try approaching it in a different manor. With this set, I've added triangular floors. Specifically 60 degree equilateral triangles. Each side is the same as a normal tile, 2 inches, 3 inches or 4. With these you can do hexes if you like, or you can combine them with the square floor tiles to create a sprawling complex going off in every direction.
Now, you can tell me if you like this idea. If people are into it, when the forthcoming limestone caverns come out, I'll continue with this approach there too.
Floors will come out in a separate release in a few minutes.

As a side note, I will still need to release 30 degree increment corners so that square tiles can line up with these on angles other than against a flat edge like is pictured.

Yeah, it's a tough problem. I knew no matter what with angles it would run into this problem. My hope was that it will be something most GMs can work with.

I think you've really outdone yourself here. I think the introduction of this geometry really makes things a lot more interesting. The fact that you can mix multiple sizes of triangles and still use the same corners is particularly noteworthy. I can't wait to see what you do with the limestone caverns. I was printing a set of Zandoria's Caves of Chaos, but I think I'm going to hold out for your set instead.

From a design/look point of view I love the switch up. however there are some rules (such as flanking in D&D 5e) that depend on position and switching between a square and hex pattern will change the encounter balance.

I like them for the simple fact that they break from the norm of square/rectangular tiles. Keep up the awesome work!
