Towne Wooden Floors
🕑 Added 2019-02-25 17:54:17 +0000 UTCFirst release is here for the new Towne Series. Based on the feedback, I did a few more changes to the floors (they are thinner now), and printed and painted a bunch of them, and I think they are ready for release. The grain on these is much cleaner than the old floors, and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.
When I start a new set, I try to bang out floors, walls, corners and doors in pretty rapid succession so that they are usable quickly. Walls should come out later this week, and I'll aim for corners and doors next month.
Grab the floors on Thingiverse and let me know what you think in the comments!

I hand sculpt using dyntopo. Basic process is draw in the grain with the sculpt tool. Sharpen the bottom of the grain with the crease tool. Pull the mesh up at the edges of the grain with reverse crease, then smooth the edge. Finally, run crease over the bottom of the grain again just to get the line sharpened up again.

It looks gorgeous. How do you create that wooden texture please? Is it texture with displacement modifier (assuming blender)? Or do you hand-sculpt it all manually?

Yep, in the queue. Just been racing to get releases done before end of month.

They look great, is there any chance of a painting tutorial for the wooden tiles? Yours look much better than mine.
