Building Facades: The Stone Brick Townhouse
🕑 Added 2020-10-30 18:58:04 +0000 UTCFinally we can get to the business of what all those roof releases were for: Building facades, in this case a stone-brick cottage. There's a couple special things about these tiles.
- These tiles are half an inch taller than the normal two inch tiles, because the standard dungeon tiles when stacked frankly look too short when next to a miniature. These tiles are designed to be able to create full buildings that will look good on the table next to your minis.
- Unlike most tiles, these have inside and outside textures, giving you an exterior and interior that are distinct from one another. Further, the set has distinct tiles for the upper and lower floors to help these textures more closely map to historical (and fantasy) buildings.
- Instead of a full set of tiles, this release is designed to make a specific building. Everything is included in the release, including all bases and any previously released files (the floors and roofs).
This set has every tile in it necessary to create the one and two story versions of this building.

And the different stories, are they connected in any way, or just lying on each other?

I've attached specifically only the files used to build this. I don't have instructions, but the photos were meant as a guide. Let me know if this was helpful, if not, I'll write something more up :-).

Is there any instruction on how to construct these using the files in sync? Also, is there anything that affixes the stories and roof in place, or are they just balancing on top?

I expect to eventually do some openable doors, but I didn't want to compromise the building's aesthetics, and it will take some thought. I did get an interesting new idea for doors from another patron, with magnets embedded in the door and the tile so you can open it, but also remove and replace the door.
