Concept art for a character called Donavan (but please, call him Don!) A large leopard seal gentleman shown here in his late forties, Don is a deacon within Merry Meadowsweet’s megachurch, and works as a sort of unlicensed family and marriage counselor for their devoted flock. Don may have an alarmingly toothy grin, but he’s also got a rich booming laugh and a kindly pushy over-friendliness (think used car salesman) that puts people at ease….eventually.
Don is a longtime friend of Merry, and served as an important mentor figure to a young Toffee Meadowsweet. He doesn’t bite, unless you’re into that sort of thing. He is (was) Toffee’s first love, though our present day Toffee would consider him more of a deeply painful mistake.

Yeah, haha. He likes men who like to bully him just a bit. Bob cuts all his grumpiness/teasing with genuine kindness and warmth though. Don is entirely self-serving.

It's less a sore spot and more of a confused spot. An unpleasant spot. :/ But sure, feedback is always good. Why do you think people are assuming Don is a bigger monster than I meant? Maybe it'll help me avoid similar skeevy vibes with his character in the future.

I could perhaps add some clarification to why people are jumping to the conclusions of Don going after Toffee waaay too young. But I'll wait on your go ahead for whether or not you want to hear it. As its possible you already know and I'd hate to dig the nail in further if its a sore spot.
