Tibbs' bromance is with Topher. As Toffee is Perry's closest friend besides his husband, Topher is Tibbs'

Welll I wouldn't really call it a bromance, but they are friends. Bob mostly annoys Tibbs by watching him do home repairs and griping he's doin' it wrong. Tibbs retaliates with a quiet "hm, not how I would do it" when he sees Bob doing his own home repair/landscaping/etc. There's a lot of rivalry/antagonism that looks mean to outsiders, but to Tibbs and Bob it's just them messing with each other, all in good fun. They can spend an afternoon building a deck with almost no conversation between them, and to them that's nearly the height of fun and enrichment

I'm tryin' as hard as I can here but I just can't get ol' Toff pregna- Toffee, gently placing his hand over Bob's mouth: What my beloved MEANS to say is that children just aren't.....compatible...with our lifestyle. Topher: *raises eyebrow* With your lifestyle? Toffee: Well, yes! Bobby only just finished the shelves for my porcelain unicorn collection- babyproofing would mean putting them up in a box somewhere and how could I look at them then? I can't just leave them in the attic to gather dust! 🥺 And where would I find the time for my sewing? Or game night with Kathleen?? Or my tea-of-the-month club? Or biweekly brunch with Perry?? And you KNOW how much I value getting a full night's rest- Topher: Jesus alright, calm down grandpa, I GET it

Toffee and Bob are just like me and my fiance. Minus the nasty smashing cause we're just two aces being boring as hell with our hobbies (ie embroidery and fixing broken switches)

Oh also cuz Bob and Toff have a reaaaaaally active private life (read: they are smashing nasty all the time) and they don't want a kid cramping their style

Bob and Kathy always meant to have kids, but it was just never a good time, and stuff kept coming up, until ultimately they had to admit the reason they were both dragging their feet is because neither of them truly wanted children. Bob lucked out with Toffee, because Toffee has known he doesn't want kids since he was very young. Toffee loves kids! Make no mistake. But the thought of being someone's FATHER sort of makes him feel like he can't breathe, makes him think of his own father. Also, he's just really fussy and particular about his personal life, after a long day he just wants to come home to his slippers and a mug of warm tea and antiques roadshow til he passes out, there's no place for screaming sticky children in his and Bob's immaculate and cozy home. Bob too values calm and quiet and the comfortable domesticity he shares with his husband, he feels no urge to bring a child into it. Both of them are always down to babysit though, or do volunteer work with kids. :3
