While body-issues and transphobia are two VERY different things, I get the same way when people say nice things about my body. It heals my inner child, who was ridiculed for it. Words like "fat" or "chubby" don't mean to me now what they meant back then. Especially when coming from someone I love!

*slamming my fists on the table* WOMEN WOMEN WOMEN WOMEN God I’m so in love with older women getting to be depicted this way! The little chuffs that Neith does and the way you can Definitely see where Topher got his predilection to tease (:

gamigami

1. yeah makes sense you'd want to simplify them, they look good but i'm sure they are a pain to draw lol. can't wait to see what you do! 2. heh... i'm sure neith is no stranger to hiding in the bushes 😉a jaguar like her cant help but dive into her natural habitat when she sees it... see this is great because it doubles as a sex joke and a weed joke

Lopoddity

Thanks! Perry's stripes are easy, I can imagine them as contour lines that wrap around his form. Neith spots are way harder tho, and I don't think I did very well with them here. I think I make them too complicated and they end up breaking up her form and making it hard to see where her body parts begin and end (just like a real jaguar hiding in the bush i guess). Planning on simplifying em so she isn't a total pain in the ass to color every time. ><

gamigami

looking back at this.... i am just so stunned by your art and ability to convey emotions, your colors, everything LMAO. i really gotta know, how do you draw things like the leopard spots so evenly and consistently and still manage to make them look convincingly natural...??? you do it so well across all your patterned characters, from Perry's stripes-spots to the entire Shepherd family! whenever i do patterns like that i start blacking out and doubting my ability to make them varied BUT NOT TOO VARIED but also not too similar and repetitive and then Oh No i drew the same thing 5 times in a row and didn't realize until Right Now

Me and Perry are doing the biggest high five !!! there's a specific flavor of GNC transmasc where you know, solidly, you're some kind of man-shaped-thing but oughh it's so nice to be called feminine little pet names and sounds. Tibbs is a real one for how totally loving he is of Perry- I love their specific genre of queer freaks in love <3 <3

Corinne Stephenson

I don't consider myself trans, but I definitely feel nonbinary and *loathe* when people push femininity on me (even though I'm AFAB and use the pronouns assigned to me at birth). But with my husband, I'm utterly *chuffed* when he says I'm pretty or gives me feminine compliments. He also treats me like a bro when we're being giant goofballs. It all feels comfortable because it comes from a place of love and it feels safe.

Iowasi

Definitely agreeing with folks here — you are doing a GREAT job depicting Perry/Tibbs in a manner that doesn’t seem to be viewing trans masc folks (or trans people in general) as just fuel. Gender IS complicated for a lot of folks, trans or not, and it can take that trusted special someone to help break down the barriers you were scared of exploiting. (For context, if needed, I’m nb fem-leaning, and am “afab”)

Iowasi

I immediately thought of that one post on tumblr, a video captioned with “beautiful cow mooing” or something. And then a cow-focused blog responded with “no!!! This is not one of those.” Love that post!!

Snoodle

This is beautiful, I love big cat chuffs so much they are a delightful noise. As a trans masc person I totally get this, before I transitioned I hated feminine pet names and compliments, but now that I'm comfortable as a man, I like getting compliments and fem aligned endearments from my partners.

Thank you for this blessing

THIS is the queer representation we need but large media is too uneducated and cowardly to depict. I'm a trans man who in all honesty is quite binary in my gender expression, but I will always have the utmost respect for my fellow trans folks who enjoy gender play or simply like to be gender nonconforming. Trans people are expected to follow gender stereotypes to a T if they want to have their identities respected, but if cis people can engage in gender nonconforming behaviors without having THEIR identities disrespected, we should be able to as well! If, say, a cis guy can enjoy dressing up in feminine clothes or being referred to with feminine terms, a trans guy should be able to as well! There is so much fun and freedom to be had when we stop trying to cram ourselves into the box society has assigned to us, and I love that this is a constant underlying message in your work!

Neith's lil blep is killing me. 😭 Mirroring what others have already said, I really appreciate the thoughtfulness you put into the subjects explored in your work. I think kink, like many things, is a spectrum and how one couple does it is gonna be different than another!

Fukōsagi

IT'S NP! I think kink is a very important aspect of relationships that have a sexual component to it, especially when both characters are indulging in it together. Perry's trust for Tips to engage in this type of role play shows that Perry deeply trusts his partner and Tibbs is very respectful about it. Your overall art and way of handling of the subject, at least to me, comes across as a natural exploration of something some folks simply do and not at all fetishy. Perry is a trans guy and some trans guys engage in this type of play just as some cis guys do. Everyone is different with what they're comfortable with and I think that range is very important to show in media. All and all I love this exploration with queer characters because it's just something I dont see much in (at least in a none fetishy way) It's just very refreshing to see kink topics handled in a realistic way where it isn't over the top fetish content or just watered down wholesome vanilla smexy times.

Lopoddity

Thank you so much, that means a lot! 🥰 I was kinda worried when I drew this that it might come off like Tibbs is invalidating Perry's gender identity, or fetishizing his transness, or that Perry was getting sexual gratification out of misgendering (a painful experience for so many), or that I was conflating transgenderism with a genderplay/crossdressing fetish, or even that Perry was reacting positively because he was being perceived as his "true" gender, implying that being trans is not a valid identity!! Ack!! So much to fret over! And it doesn't help that it's a single drawing that could easily be assumed to be in bad faith, as opposed to a sketch comic that could add more context. I'm still kinda worried about it honestly, what if I'm being upsetting and insensitive and people are hesitant to say anything? :( (To everyone reading this, please never be afraid to share your honest thoughts!) We know, and Tibbs knows, and Perry knows, that Perry is a man. Even here, in the bedroom, as Tibbs uses girly pet names, Perry is still not truly being perceived as female, but rather just a guy getting his kink indulged. For Perry, the kink's novelty comes from the embarassment (being talked to like a pretty girl) mixed with praise/affirmation (having it be done by someone he trusts, knowing that it's only roleplay, having permission to feel pretty without all the baggage that normally entails, having full control over how he is treated). Curiously, it's only the petname aspect that gets Perry so flustered, otherwise he thinks nothing of wearing lacey lingerie or thigh high socks or makeup in the bedroom. Putting on eyeliner and a sparkly pink strap-on to rail his hogsband incoherent is just another tuesday to Perry. Getting kissed all over and told he's soft and pretty and a good girl is...a more novel, vulnerable experience. Perry likes it.

😭 I love them both. Such a treat when I get to see these guys dynamic and also I won't lie I love getting to have more overt discussion and depictions of their sexuality not only to round out their characters but also because it makes me feel so seen as a queer genderfuck person . I rlly relate to Perry here esp w it only being trusted partners allowed & how it feels nice despite it being hard to explain & something that would make me feel unsafe / a hard boundary w other ppl. I rlly have been appreciating ur NSFW content of these guys!! Like depicting their overt sexuality as queer ppl means a lot to them feeling like such real characters

Lammergayier

Tiger sounds are so good, I always think they sound like cows mooing

Murkydepths

So cute!! Did you know tigers meow? :D If you pitch up a tiger moan, it sounds exactly like a little cats meow, and vice versa.

Fukōsagi

I am absolutely in love with how you explore queer topics in your story that many would deem more controversial. It feels so real yet comforting to see these very rare depictions of the queer experience, especially when it's handled with the love and care your work oozes. Fuzzbutts has been so fun to watch play out since it seems like you can finally fully explore the topics you wanted to in depth. I've been around since around 2014 and have enjoyed seeing all your improvement and progress as a creative.

Haselwoelfchen

Aw Lop, you spoil us!

forthehonor-ofgayskull

Ahhh this is so cute. I'm a transman myself but my boyfriend calls me his little doe and it's my favorite pet name he has for me so sometimes that shit hits different when it's from someone you trust

Neith's little tongue sticking out is SO 😭 Also I want to say SO MUCH (positively) on this introspection into Perry and Tibbs' dynamic but I'm also so horrifically exhausted and my brain has ceased making structured and well-elaborated sentences, so: I also feel it when gender-based praise gets fucky when in comparison to gender references outside the bedroom, I feel like I'd get pretty hung up over it as well, though with a partner as wonderful and caring as Tibbs, I'm sure it's much easier 💕

This is fucking adorable
