I also, don't particularly dislike this plot development, actually having Neia realize just how bad things are getting for the "small guy" in the Holy Kingdom, would go a long way towards "inciting rebellion" against the wasteful and terrible elites, exploiting the poor population. (My guess currently is, that the SK basically wants a "revolt" that it can then back and have a "King/Queen of the People" put on the throne, who actually is just as much a Ainz/SK fanboy/girl as Neia herself is!) I'm purely "complaining" about the "Canon" aspect of things, because as other commenters also pointed out, Neia specifically was in a position where she WOULDN'T fall into that group of "owns nothing, can do nothing and has no perspective whatsoever", thats the only thing "bugging" me here. :)

That still doesn't count for the missing magical items. Even the amulet against fear would be useful depending on how it manifests (resistance to outside fear sources like a DKs aura, or bonuses to morale checks)..

I'm choosing to trust the Author but you make a good point. I'm thinking Demiurge is trying to drive a wedge between the Cult of Ainz and the government. She cant rely on her followers because she looks weak right now and weakness is a sin, or the changes in the direction of the country have all the cult members off trying to improve or with the army to conquer the frontier

Ainz didn't take the bow, so she still has it.

No, maybe not for "border patrol", but the text specifically states how Neia has "nothing left but the skimpy small and dirty dress" or how she's now "all alone", it's not so much the plotline itself that's bothering me but he fact that CANON, showed a completely different situation just a few months (in new-world-time) before! I also get WHY its written like it is, but so far the different "side plots" written to "support the main plot" felt much more subtle and I guess "in line" with CANON? This feels like the entirety of the "hyping" that was done about "Neia's new position of power, reputation and importance" in the Holy Kingdom was purely "hot air" and while some of it certainly was not ALL of it was! At the very least those "absolutely insane Zealots" worshipping Ainz wouldn't "suddenly" abandon her, thats kind of in the term "zealotry" itself inclued...

Hell, she also had a cult of tens of thousands "worshipping" Ainz with her together! She was among the most influential in the order (by pure members and volunteers reached NOT influence with the "big nobles" of course) too AND is an honored war hero, this just seems like such a random turn of events! No matter how "terrible" the government is and even "actively destructive", they or at least Demiurge's servant wouldn't do anything to Neia because she was "chosen as a pawn by Ainz Oal Gown himself"!

Gopard

Thanks for the chapter! This feels just too stupid, last I remember Neia got seven pieces of magical equipment (not the bow but still very strong stuff) for her to keep AND was basically leader of a "cult" of tens of thousands! That's how it's portrayed in the novels at least! Considering you always tried to stay "close to Canon" this feels like a pretty random "turn of events" at this point! Not even considering that EVEN DEMIURGE was "awed by Ainz creating such a loyal pawn" WHY would he and his subordinates do this stuff to her now? That's basically like "interfering with Ainz's plan" in their eyes!

Shizu i gone flip want wat she hat to do was basicly choes between her suprem one or ainz

This was my concern too. I don't recall anything weird happening to Buser's turtle shell vest. I don't recall her returning any of the gear Ainz gave her either. So she should have the bow, A pendant granting immunity to fear, a necklace that lets her cast a third tier recovery spell, archery boosting gauntlets and the visor that hides her eyes. Granted none of those things are shoes.

Wow, did they really strip her of her cloth? and no money (she don't have some? or very little?) given to her for her service? And done like that, throw away in secs when she was and started with them at eight years old? Now what interesting is where she will goes and what she will see and with what others Character she will interact :)))

pisro

Surprised that Neia doesn’t have atleast Buser’s equipment, I could understand her giving back the bow but it was my understanding she had got to keep atleast Buser’s gear at the end of volume 13. Perhaps it’s locked up elsewhere cause I loved her look wearing it.

Wel that sucks voor hur
