Valguris

So, Countess Beaumont is baby Ludmila. :D

Thomus AEmilianus AElianus

She actually might be. She managed to kill someone with a stick and a dagger. Thinking about it I can't imagine the noble ladies scared of Ludmila in Volume 1 doing anything like that.

Valguris

Her territory is considered frontier, right? She might already be a martial noble. :P

Thomus AEmilianus AElianus

How many Magistrates does she need to murder before she turns into martial noble ?

pisro

Nobles would be the ones administering justice yes, usually not directly due to the logistics of that, but it’s always by their authority.

Zarik0

Add the underground storey (who had the freezing one) so 675 square meter in total, add garden and etc too so its even more :PPPPP

Colin Love

Haha “there’s the hellion we all know”. Bit ‘O some good ole fashioned frontier justice to wipe the slate clean.

I think Lady Beaumont is gonna pick up a few levels in Assassin herself by the time this is over lol, do nobles usually execute criminals by hand?

GodImSoSorry

I think we're seeing the "Empty Container" problem, the Countess got the education and the less than challenging activities of the city. So she has a few levels but never grasped the skills and abilities that a Noble scion who helps to manage their lands (like Ludmila) has. We can see she understands things that nobles are supposed to. She's definitely getting the express Train being thrown into a mismanaged fief under threat of Death by Demon Administrator

The power of a strong economy regulated by superhumanly intelligent monsters. Errybodies richer!

Valguris

A typo: "As if on queue," should be "cue", not "queue".

“Uh…I need two of these for my entire house, one for each storey. So a square about fifteen by fifteen metres?” Dammit Liam, you're just flexing now. Fifteen by fifteen metres is 225 square metres. Two stories, so 450 square metres house. Me, with 50-60 square metres apartment: “…are you some kinda Noble, kid?”

Well she was 'raised'/educated correctly and with the 'correct' value of the Vocation and away of the shit, so 'pure' and not 'corrupted'/not tainted type of Noble It also go into the Empty Container thingy For first Noble in re-Estize are low level for most of them (as all people into this country) but also depending of their education (who can 'shift'/'drift' depending how their house situation become (look at Fasset)) Their ability/competence/outlook can be vastly different in variety/variance ('bad'/'good'/'Noble') and also with some aspect/part totally missing possibly (its like Liam multiple time thought about pickpoket and all the different crew/people in shabby town, and they all Rogue but because they don't know it and are educated correctly on it they only had part of the ability and outlook Rogue 'can' (normally) have if fully filled So Low Level, Empty Container, and different education/outlook/variance of the class and use of it and experience/situation While you get some baseline and 'correction' to your mode of thought, it seem that at the base of it it only push very slighty into a direction and they are a need to fill the container the level up give you (aka education to fill it and strenghen/nurture the 'correction'/influence of the class in the more 'Normal' view of it by society, aka Noble, good/correct noble (with duty/etc they have) Still possible that your House have a different education too who fill the Noble Class with a different set of competence or how to use them and for what (Fasset) a variance of Noble (more 'evil'/unilateral one) I don't think a lot of Re-estize noble (comparing with the total number) are too out of what we can consider proper Noble, we just get the worse here and lots of the ones who can't resist anymore shit (like eight finger and etc) or get partially corrupted by their house situation as time and generation pass And yes possibly some few have not Noble class (or have other class and fucked up build too who add conflict or others 'push' in their mode of thought making it a mess overal) Or their Noble class is so much not developped and low level that its mostly a empty container and the correction of the 'mode of thought' is weak or incomplete, a Partial Noble at the base who you can even add to it to make it 'worse' if he had another class level can maybe get his overall outlook mostly influenced by this not noble class as he use it or support himself with it more, with his Noble one who is mostly empty or incomplete/not used/partially used on just sme aspects/ability Well anyway seem this Countess will get the Express Train to level up a bunch here :))

Duke of Coffee

(“I don’t know, exactly,” Liam said. “But I’m pretty sure she’s not done killing people yet.”) Yes the Countess has join the dark side. Dark side always have cookies.

Unfathomably based Countess. Incredible. I knew it'd prove enlightening for someone involved. Turns out that someone was me. This arc is absolutely delightful, and seeing Countess Beaumont has given me a thought - do all the useless and corrupt Re-Estize Nobles even *have* Noble Class Levels? I feel that this a question worth considering because as we know, the 'system' heavily influences knowledge and modes of thought according to one's Class Levels. Rangers are Ranger-y, Priests are Priests, etc etc. And we have many very clear examples of typical Noble thought processes. What they think about and consider; what they prioritise; what they understand and what they can sense about their demesne. I assume that Countess Beaumont possessed very little in the way of experience before this, being a typical Noble Daughter. So, very very low level. And yet, she echoes how we know Nobles to think. So total level isn't a major factor into the psychological impact that having the Noble Class imparts upon it's holder. But other Re-Estize Nobles display, or displayed rather, and act so contrary to this that I can't help but wonder if many simply do not possess the Noble Class. I'm not sure how much that would make sense, and the Countess makes a good point about 'bad decisions from bad info', but it still just boggles my mind how un-Noble they can be. This is Overlord. If one is a Noble, *they are a Noble* and they will act like it. For so many to not is just weird.
