Thank you for the support. I went over my script to see if I said Kendrick should drop every year and I never said that, I'm getting comments like that on YouTube too lol. Dropping every year to me is too much, I said in the video every 2 years is usually a good length for people to miss you and for you to still remain the dominant artist. Even 3 years is fine, 2-3 years is a good period. 5 Years however is just too long, Hip-Hop fans will find something else in that time frame. The casual fan won't sit and wait for an artist that long, they'll listen to others. I love 50 Cent, but the guy hasn't dropped shit since 2015 but you know damn well if he ever does drop an album I'll be the first listen. I'm talking more from the casual fans who tend to move on, in order to dominate those fans need you often. 2-3 years ain't that much. Every year is overkill and it's why Drake is suffering from some backlash musically and sales declining.

Great video! Very in-depth analysis of the build up to this battle. Only issue is with the "win the war" portion. In my opinion, Kendrick doesn't need to drop an album every year to win. To me, that would lead to his downfall with his core fans and eventually with the new fans he gained. The reason Drake is seeing his numbers decline and the interest of his music decline as well, is due to the fact that he didn't give people time to miss him. He oversaturated the market with his music, which in turn forced Drake to have to cookie cut his music to keep up with the machine. Instead of making more inspired music that engaged more people outside of his core fans, he stuck to the same pattern and after a while, people noticed the quality of the music took a backseat to keep up with the numbers. If Kendrick goes that same route, the same result will happen over time. True hip hop fans don't mind waiting for a project to drop, as long as it delivers great music that's true to the art form. Plus, now that Kendrick is running his own label / think-tank, I don't think he will be having another long hiatus like he did before. Just my opinion of course.
