I wrote a 3 book original series two chapters a week for over two years without a break. (while also writing New Beginnings and other unpublished works at the same time.) Burnout is not something you can let happen. If writing New Beginnings was work, then it would already be a failure. It's MASSIVE on RoyalRoad, with 5600 followers, yet I make less than other fanfic writers by sometimes more than 10x. (I make less than 1k a month here on Patreon.)

Consistency is king. While more is nice, uncertainty is the killer of Patreons. But it also depends on your own goals. Just writing for fun and the Patreon money is a nice little bonus? Do whatever you like. Post how often and how much/little you desire. Do what makes it enjoyable. Hoping to earn a living from it? Treat it like *work*. Work Can be fun, but isn't going to be fun all the time. Set schedules. *Keep them.* Find a way that works for you that still keeps the words flowing, because unless you get Truly big, it's going to be your lifeline. Learn your limits to avoid burning out. Writing a story means you'll be in it for the long haul. There's a reason most of the big stories post on weekdays. (1-5 times per week depending on story.) If you do get big, don't write on weekends (unless the creative urge is especially strong that weekend, and you find it fun), you need rest to avoid burnout. Consistency is going to be super important here, regardless of how people will say otherwise. People lie to themselves all the time, and those that are dissatisfied won't always say so, most of the time they'll just stop showing up.

Eh, i kinda disagree tbh. It certainly depends on the length in the end but I find myself far more let's call it unfulfilled with short chapters that I can finish in a few minutes.

I think a consistent schedule is more important than chapter length.
