The light here was not a thing to be seen, but a medium to be felt. It was the very substance of my thoughts, the currency of my being. I moved within it, not as a swimmer through water, but as a note through a symphony. And beside me, always, was the counterpoint: Michael.
His resonance was a fortress of unwavering truth, a citadel built upon the single, unassailable axiom of his existence: Who is like God? The answer, of course, was nothing. Nothing at all. It was the bedrock of his power, a divine authority that enforced a fundamental law of reality—a law of comparative inadequacy. Against any foe, his very presence whispered the universe’s verdict: You are less.
My own nature was… different. A broader spectrum. Where Michael was a singular, devastating chord, I was the entire scale. Father’s light was not merely illumination; it was the underlying code of all that was—energy, matter, thought, potential. To be its bearer was to hold a key to every lock in creation, to understand the grammar of reality itself. A jack of all trades, and through a confluence of fate, inheritance, and a stolen bite of a golden fruit, a master of all of them.
The problem was not one of love, but of mathematics. Of simple, cruel geometry.
I was a sphere; Michael was a circle. My volume, my capacity, was expanding at a rate his circumference could never hope to match. Every passing aeon, every playful spar, every moment of focused training, only widened the gap. He strained, he honed, he pushed his divine being to its absolute limits, and I… I simply understood. I looked at a problem and saw not a barrier, but a set of instructions. I saw the solution woven into the fabric of the problem itself.
And I saw the fissure it would create. I saw the shadow of resentment that would one day fall across his emerald eyes, not out of malice, but out of the sheer, exhausting frustration of an impossible race. The promise I had made to myself—and to our father, etched in the quiet sanctum of my heart—was absolute. Nothing, not even the inconvenient truth of my own nature, would be allowed to stain our brotherhood. The extra pair of wings on my back, the seven to his six, were not a mark of difference, of superiority; one that i would allow. They were just a complication to be engineered around.
The situation was, in its divine complexity, simple. The solution, however, was not. It was not a matter of me holding back, trying to limit myself, clips my wings literally and figuratively, that would be a condescension he would detect and despise. That would be something no matter how much I loved my brother I knew I would not be able to stop festering inside, to wander, to think, to imagine how far I could have gone without any possibility of knowing because of the insecurity, comfort of someone else even if they were my twin, even if it was to make things stay the same.
It was a matter of elevation. Of bringing him up to the same level, threshold, whatever you want to call it to the one I was at, raising him instead of making myself fall.
My plan was in a sense a simple thing woven from light and will. Using my authority as the Lightbringer—the one who comprehends the source code—and the profound, metaphysical link that twinhood granted us, that existed because of the way our Father had made us, because technically, we both came from the same prima matter that was divided and modified after to make us, I would attempt something audacious, that could honestly blow up very badly, fail spectacularly.
the thing I wanted to write was to attempt to rewrite a soul. More precisely my brother’s soul or whatever we had as the equivalent of a soul.
I would use my understanding of Father’s light, of the fundamental principles of existence, to initiate a controlled ascension within him. I would share the blueprint of my own expanded nature, not by gift, but by guided evolution.
In a sense, I was trying to replicate whatever was inside of me, inside the code of my animus and made me much more than what I should have been, that I probably had inside due to the golden apple of Louis with my brother. I don't think that it would be possible to make him gain the equivalent of the complete essences I had inside. Shadows of them were what I was going with and if my calculations were correct, then it should be good enough.
Still, because I kinda didn't know what I was doing and because the last thing I wanted was to screw up in such a way that my brother would be hurt, I had asked for the support and vigilance of my father. Honestly, I thought that he would be much more hesitant, maybe against what I planned to do. I had in my mind prepared arguments just for him to say okay immediately after I asked which I was glad but still, a part of me regretted the fact that it meant that I had stressed over nothing.
Our Father’s form, a titan of condensed starlight and platinum light, loomed over our training ground, the size of a dwarf was focused on us and when I said focused, I meant that our Father's entire attention and not a sliver of it was paying attention to what I was doing.
The last time I had felt his total attention on something had been when our home had been breached by that thing, when our Father had been so wrathful that he created Hell.
His omniscience, for reasons I alone knew, probably because of the contract I had with Louis in my past life found me… opaque. A blur in His perfect sight. The thoughts I nurtured, the plans I concocted—like this one—were clouds in His celestial vision. Had it been otherwise, we could have simply asked Him for the solution, for corrections in advance, aware of any possible pitfall but it was not possible.
We were in a way navigating by a star we could not clearly see.
I met Michael’s gaze across the shimmering expanse of our arena. His expression was not one of doubt, but of absolute, bedrock faith.
He looked as if he already knew the result and was just impatient for it to come, as if he was waiting for those in the line before him to finish instead of me literally playing with his soul, looking at me as if there were no ways I would fuck it up, as if he didn't trust that I would succeed but knew that I would which I would not deny made me feel both happiness and dread inside.
"Are you ready?" I asked, my voice echoing almost like the soft chime of crystal meeting light if that made sense even if it probably didn't. Things like that were what reminded me sometimes how crazy and unbelievable my current circumstances were. Still. I felt the ghost of a smile blooming. I don’t think no matter what that this is something I would ever regret, this life and family I have now.
He gave a single, firm nod, his own presence solidifying, readying itself as a flawless conduit to ease the process. Soul manipulation with a willing subject was much easier than with an unwilling one. The simulations I had run with the quantum computer-like brain that I had made sure I knew. His certainty was a lance through my heart.
I could feel the immense pressure of our Father’s regard, a silent, watchful giant ready to unravel the universe itself should my experiment threaten His son. I offered a slight, acknowledging nod first to that towering form, a gesture of respect for the vigil He kept, and then to my twin, my other half, my brother.
My light began to coalesce, not around me, but within the space that connected us—a space that was more real than the empty void between stars. It was time to begin.

Consider a planet. It behaves as it does—orbital mechanics, geological processes, atmospheric dynamics—because that is what Father decreed when He compiled its essential nature.

So I just want to point out how exactly is this dcd because there is nothing out there with the exception being maybe ophis and big red who can match them and not to mention with this big G is now not going to be exhausted from sealing trihexia and with helel being a SI he’s not going to fall so what’s going to happen mind you I absolutely love this story and don’t want to see it dropped but I do kinda want to see what’s happening with the other pantheons in DXD
