How To Train Your Dragon (2010)

Hiccup, an undersized teen outcast and son of the village chieftain, wishing to become a dragon slayer like the other Vikings, injures a rare Night Fury dragon but is unable to bring himself to kill it.
He instead helps and befriends the dragon, and quickly discovers that things are not exactly as they seem in the conflict between Vikings and dragons.

I also wanna add how I like how Hiccup's actions had repercussions. It's one of the few "kid movies" where the main protagonists face real consequences for their actions, especially in this situation. I'm obviously not blaming Hiccup, but what he did was very, very dangerous, and you can't realistically come out of something like that unscathed, especially after what he did. I also love that they took the risk and allowed children to see that message as well — even though he saved the day, he still lost something.

This was indeed a popular movie, which is why there are more movies, tv shows, books, and even a live action adaptation afterwards lol

When I tell you that I've watched this movie literally more times than I could count (by the way, this movie was made by DreamWorks), and I've cried every single time. I've watched it so many times, both by myself and when other reactors react to it, and I can never hold it in, so I was 1000% bawling my eyes out with you. It's one of my favorite animated trilogies. I don't know how to describe how every movie in this trilogy will make you cry, whether it be out of joy, out of laughter, or out of sadness. It's a "kid movie", but can genuinely be watched by all ages. I feel like Nik summed it up perfectly, but just everything about it works so, so beautifully. Really, truly, some of the best movies that I feel like you can recommend to genuinely anyone. P.S. This is random, but one of my favorite lines in this movie is "thank you for nothing, you useless reptile", and the way the voice actor says it is the funniest thing ever.

That first flight scene, powered by that incredible score, is one of the most exhilarating, pure injection of serotonin, and genuinely joyous moment in film history.

How To Your Dragon is, in my opinion, the greatest animated trilogy ever. There is something truly magical about these films - the soundtrack, the voice acting, the characters, the action, the scenery - everything is executed beautifully. God, I love these films! Btw, part 2 & 3 are just as incredible. I truly hope you watch them in your spare time if you're not planning on reacting to them for Patreon.
