From what I understand, if you upgrade in say, 7 months time, you’ll have access to the past 7 months of content that was exclusive to that tier. Just like how First worked, you immediately unlock the back catalogue when you pay.

They're still releasing the podcast to the public for free, though; it's the same as if you were watching the previous thing without a First sub. And there are benefits other than ad-free thrown into that $15, just depends on if those benefits are worth it for you
