Wouldn't call it a fear, but since kindergarten, just the idea of touching a chalkboard (not scratching, just touching) gives me an uncomfortable feeling in my hands, particularly in my finger tips. Whiteboards sometimes give me the same feeling, but it's not as bad as chalkboards. This was even before I saw people doing the scratching thing in shows to make the screeching sound, which makes that feeling worse.

Geoff, I'll do you one better about the Quiz With Balls. Not only was it approved once, but multiple times in different countries. At the very least in the Netherlands, since I've seen it on TV. And it's an Endemol production, which is Dutch, so. I think the 'excitement' is that all the balls come down at the contestants and they don't know if they'll get knocked down or not. People like tension like that, I guess.
