There is a lake across the street from my home and every 4th of July, the township floats a large barge roughly a hundred yards (~91.5 meters) off the shore and this is where our Independence Day fireworks display occurs. Said town is pretty well off and, therefore, generally shells out a pretty decent amount of cash for its fireworks (there are A Lot of them). This being said, one year, not terribly long ago, something wasn't set up quite right; the first 5 or 6 rockets soared into the sky, just as any of the previous displays...however...at around that point, every other firework seemed to simultaneously ignite, not leave the barge in any fashion, and subsequently erupt, just off the shore, in likely the most spectacular explosion that I will ever see, in person, for the rest of my life. Conclusion: I can personally confirm Eric's statement about the best fireworks display of all time.

Pretty shocked there was no theme park on the list or honorable mentions. Every single summer of my life from the time I was a toddler till my mid 20s was a family trip to disneyland or six flags. That's peak summer to me.

Swimming is my favorite, even better than gliding atop the water on a jet ski (I'll consider surfing because you stay in the water plenty). I think swimming is only swimming, no matter if its an ocean, river, pool. But "hanging at the lake" or "hanging at the ocean" or "hanging at the beach" are all unique activities. As are waterfall sliding/jumping, river tubing, water parks, surfing...so many water & waterside activities. Nick probably wins for me...I guess it matters whether Geoff's final pick is officially skinny dipping or setting off fireworks, because my dog has never been hospitalized for his epilepsy when people go skinny dipping. XD Also, every person had honorable mentions that were deserving of drafting.

I feel like picking something general and picking something specific can be a strategy thing. Picking swimming would pick everything downline of it, but you pick only a general thing, or you can risk it and go more specific, and get more audience points.
