Recently listening to episode 6 of year 1 when Geoff tells everyone how much he hated napoleon dynamite and then listening to him try and convince nick he loved it is genuinely hilarious. 20mins 40 seconds in of episode 6 for those looking for it.

I think some of it has to do with not allowing the player/guesser to start reducing down possible answers based on previous questions. For instance, if you know Geoff said something was his favorite movie in the last question, you know it can't be his most hated movie if it comes up in the next question. But if you aren't sure if you were right on the previous question, it's still in play.

I felt the same way tbh, but it makes sense when you think about how easily the guys go off on a tangent or other discussion from the original discussion.

I remember when Napoleon Dynamite came out I didn’t get to see it, and for like 2 years all my friends were raving about it and how much they loved it. When I was finally able to watch it, it was boring as hell. Had a few good jokes but overall I was so bored I fell asleep, which at like 13 (or however old I was at the time) was not a thing I ever did. Wouldn’t say I hated it but it was absolutely over hyped.

stupid funny is stupid funny. it's just not for you. i could watch napoleon dynamite, employee of the month, benchwarmers etc etc right now for the first time and i would still find the 20 year old comedy funny. it's not nostalgia it's the same reason family guy ever worked. it's the goal of just trying to get you to laugh as hard and as frequently as possible.
