I think that it is just awesome that you have a large enough group of dedicated fans to sell out that many that quickly. Even though I didn't get one, I got so much joy from this. One thing though, if you can you might want to see if there were a lot of multiples on orders. If so you might want to make the next one a one or two per customer or order. Or not, whatever you determine to be "regulation".

Since you have so many unsatisfied fans. I was thinking that maybe you could slightly change up the way you release the Gurplers? Specifically, maybe the next batch could be available to just The Last Great Tier for 24 hours or even just 1 hour. I doubt they would buy all 5k by themselves. Then, just release it to the Protected By Falcons Tier and then the next tier so on until you make it publicly available. Just as a way to make sure people who really want it and are your biggest supporters get a fair chance at getting one.

I did a similar thing, though I never got a regulation shirt, so I added two to the cart(one for non-regulation listener gf lol) and logged into Shop pay account, just had to add the gurp to my cart and click a couple buttons to check out. Sad others weren’t able to get one though. I’m glad the boys’ merch did so well but likewise, hope people who missed out this time get one next drop!

Might I humbly suggest using one of the expedited checkout methods next time? I used shop pay and it took me seconds, didn’t have to input anything other than checking a box and making sure my Shop account had the right address and card on file before hitting checkout. Hope you secure one on the restock! 💕

l was able to get one, but genuinely sorry for those who were in line and got waylaid by entering payments or the like. I will say, I went on early and threw the shirt into the cart just to log into shopify and make sure that was in order ahead of time, then removed the shirt. Did the same back in the F**k face days and always got the sell-out items I wanted. Besides that, I am glad to hear this was a success, and it's not nothing that the Regulation team has gone way out of their way to be as transparent as possible about how they're handling merch, and trying to make things available for fans. Here's to the next 4000 Gurps! 🍻 Edit: Like others are saying, having an early Falcon period, or a limit (one? two? four?) might be worth doing. I know that's more to manage, but could prevent people from feeling discouraged.

I hit checkout at 12:00 and spent 4 minutes in a line to get to checkout. By the time I got my card info it, the Gurplers had sold out. I was also going to get 2 shirts, but when Geoff was talking about how they had sold out and he hopes everyone is happy with their experience on the stream, it felt so much like he was rubbing it in to everyone who was forced out that I removed the shirts, closed the site, and left the stream. This was an absolute pain of a situation, and it is exactly why I struggled to get anything from the old podcast, too.

I want 2, so I’ll start with trying to buy one right when they launch, and check back like 15 minutes later to grab my 2nd. If they sell out instantly, someone else who wanted one can get one, if they don’t sell out immediately, I can get my 2nd and help them get rid of their stock. I get there’s expectations to deliver when there’s money involved, and you’re probably paranoid about some backend bullshit we wouldn’t understand crashing the website or some freak accident, but if there’s disappointment or frustration from the fans it’ll be because of people buying like, 10 gurplers on release and the people who just want one but maybe can’t get one right away miss out. That seems to be a recurring fear on the subreddit at least. We love the Regulation crew. Personally, considering the podcast is a phoenix rising from the ashes of a once beloved company, this is a refreshing reminder of what I loved about that company, and that couldn’t be disappointing or frustrating in any way. Thank you all for your efforts to continue doing what you do, and thank you for the efforts you’ve gone to in order to provide us with merch! Happy Gurp Friday everyone. Gurp responsibly.
