I've been putting off listening to this one because seeing "Eraserhead, Twin Peaks" on the list of topics got me so excited, I love hearing Geoff talk about Lynch because I love Lynch like crazy. Now I've been crying every day for the past week, which might seem silly, but I don't think I ever considered that he'd die. Anyway, love you all, hope anyone reading this is having a good day with blue skies and golden sunshine all the way!

Amazon has this thing, not exactly like what they are talking about but I like it for similar reasons. On Now; i think its called, its not exactly like scrolling cause you still kinda pick the content but it will just have random episodes on and it brings back a bit of the old tv experience but the channel surfing is harder to do

So one I feel like with all the power outs they get maybe a spare pc would be beneficial. But also with the atom cruise thing, the take actually cuts after he crawls up the building and takes a few steps. You can see him stepping in pain before the cut

Pinouts for modular PSUs aren't standardized like other components are, but it's not a grand conspiracy or anything. The manufacturers just use the pinouts that make most sense for their architecture and pcb manufacturer. Anytime you get a new psu, you get a full set of cables to use with it and an instruction manual explaining exactly how to plug everything in. Check out LTT's turbo nerd video on PSUs if you want more detailed answers.

He's absolutely wrong about the PSU, you don't need an identical replacement, just pull the old one and its cables, and install the new one and the cables that come with that, as long as you don't fuck up and buy the wrong rating and cables then its literally plug and play. Parts being hard to get is just normal BMW after sale service, they've never made enough, which just compounds their issues, they are significantly over complicated and as a result have significant reliability problems, much like Geoff has anecdotally supported over the many years he's had issues with them.

Yeah, but in what other world are products that all look identical, all use the same connectors, and are all for the same purpose are they all intentionally changed within the same product lineup let alone all of the brands with nothing done to help the consumer figure it out AND the risk is dead components... There's no legitimate excuse corsair has to constantly change the pinouts. It's been the same pcie connector in the power supply for 30 years. I am NOT talking about the component side, I am talking about the pinouts IN THE PSU For the modular cables that have no legitimate reason to have ever changed at any point in modular ATX PSU history. You are intentionally being thick because you "know", just because its "normal" doesn't mean its common sense, or intelligent in the first place.

Man, you went full conspiracy with it as though that makes you sound like a reasonable person. You're supposed to use the cables that come with the psu and the psu comes with instructions to walk you through it, not to mention all of the instructional videos you can find on YouTube. It's really not a hard thing to do at all.

He's actually right though about the psu.... And BMW's arent shit... it sounds like parts are hard to get, which it is for every oem right now because parts availability is "sunk cost".

It's not actually since all of the modular psu companies randomly change the pinouts on the psu side and don't tell you or provide an easy way to find out so there's almost never modular psu cable compatibility within a brands own products unless they are all from the same time window. It's almost like its designed for people to kill components....

Geoff please get someone that can help with the power supply. The psu companies like Corsair change the pinouts of the psu side connector cabling so modular power supply cables are not interchangeable even between same manufacturer model lineups. If you replace the psu, replace all of the cables for it. It's almost designed to be this hard..... I think places like cable mod can help you cross reference but the safest thing imo is just get new psu and use it's cables.

I don't think that's the issue. Your PC would still have to have been powering on and simply not booting, while Geoff's power supply is not powering on at all (fan isn't spinning). Also, don't feel embarassed that you didn't know about the motherboard reset: it's only really meant for technicians to press that button.

A long time ago, I remember Gavin and Stinky Dragon's Jon Risinger talking about Jon blowing a smoke ring with his asshole. They agreed to try it. I'm sad it never came to fruition thanks to the shutdown, but man, it's so good to see Gavin's still perplexed about that scenario.

One thing that the offical survivor podcast pointed out is that it is fucking humid in Fiji. You can do the fire making thing thats super cool, but Charlie from last season pointed out that it was significantly harder then when he practiced at home because the air was so wet.

Geoff! I had the same issue with my PC. There's an impossibly small reset button on your motherboard. Thought mine was dead for months before I took it to the geek squad and was ultimately embarrassed by the resolution...
