Not quite what you’re wanting but this lengthy and pedantic deconstruction of Wikipedia’s take on the subject might be informative. I believe they touch on the book you mentioned:

Do you have any good material about the conflict in the Ukraine in the 50's or the famine? My girlfriend bought me that book Red Famine which has also suspiciously been popping up on my audible as a recommendation. If you're not familiar it's a book by a Polish author about How, in their words, "Russia starved Ukraine and has been oppressing it since the ussr." Obviously I think this is nonsense so I would like to read something by someone a little less ideologically inclined so I have a better framework to Critique this book when I give i5 back.
