He means the US has a military advantage. With Russia, otoh, war is unthinkable bc it would lead inexorably to nuclear doomsday.

Did anyone elses blood run cold when wilkerson said that the US could probably defeat china *in the long run* ? I mean, this is coming from a dove. Can u imagine what more hawkish people are saying ? And what the fuck does he actually mean by that anyways ? How many dead bodies does he foresee in any war with china ? Utterly fucking deluded if anyone thinks you could possibly defeat a country defending their homeland. Fuck me.

I agree that the vast majority of right wing "peaceniks" think militant Islamism, migrants coming in from south of the border, or China is the "real enemy". But Wilkerson is clear that he thinks climate change is the real enemy and the US needs to work with China to deal with that.

interesting interview, although suggesting that Bush was some sort of elder statesman and not Safari club deep state ghoul colours how I believe anything he says. As above, interesting to get the 'realist'/librarian/ 'good old days' type old empire people in. They see the craziness, but they've got there own madness round the corner (fixating on 'the real enemy').
