Damn you internet! I think adapting a story (book or game) to a TV series/movie presents a lot of difficulties. The structure of it will most likely change for reasons that may not be known to us. Maybe some information that wasn't specified in the game, gets expanded upon in the series because the creators really want to showcase it. I hope you'll enjoy the next episode, and you feel good about the series!

You're caught up though that's good! Avoiding spoilers is a skill by itself, so many people just immediately share the twists or important event as soon as the episode is out 😨

You'll have to explain what you mean by minor spoilers in scenes. Like if a certain character is speaking offscreen and we aren't supposed to know who it is yet? I miss a lot of dialogue, so the subtitles help me tremendously with being able to quickly glance and see what was said. If I'm speaking/reacting and they start talking, I can see what was said. Sometimes someone speaks quietly and I miss it, or if the music is too loud, I have a very hard time hearing any dialogue.

Well now after watching the first episode I am not sure how to feel yet, overall I am happy so far. I am just confused with some changes already, especially about information that was already revealed this episode, like we didnt know abby and the group were fireflies for a while in the game. So even tho I expected that to be the reason they are looking for joel, its just wasnt clear and a bit of a mistery, as joel obviously fucked over a lot of people in his time not just the fireflies. But yeah overall still excited for the next episodes, sadly my internet isnt working properly today so imma wait until tomorrow for the next episode, as that one will probably decide how I am gonna feel about season 2 for now :D

Finally caught up with ur reaction to season 1, so now I can start with this one. I didnt the episodes that are out yet so I am gonna watch it with u for the first time. I am quite curious about how they handle part two as it was in my opinion a lot less straigh forward than part one. So I have no Idea how they will deal with the stucture of the second game, I imagne getting that right will be a lot more difficult for a show, anyway I am positive and cant wait, sadly I dont have time to continue today after finishing season 1. I hope I get around to it the next couple of days as I am worried about spoilers for the show aswell :D

I’m kind of interested to see how this goes. I don’t know the story for season 2 as I never got around to playing the second game. I was more emotionally attached to the first game than season 1 of the show, but mainly due to the time spent in the world with the characters and how the narrative was delivered so superbly in game. I have to say this first episode didn’t do much for me, but let’s see how it goes. I guess they had lots of characters to introduce/build on which takes time. Also, something I’ve always wondered about is how do you not find subtitles constantly reveal minor spoilers in scenes? Or is it just the benefit you gain from having them offsets the negatives?

That's unfortunate that you're not excited for this season :( There's always a chance that an adaptation won't be our cup of tea. I definitely see a lot less excitement and interest in season 2 compared to season 1

Didn't exactly enjoy TLoU Part 2, at least narratively speaking, gameplay is fantastic though and a great evolution of the first. Obviously no spoilers but there's already some deviations from the game which are interesting to say the least, it's my hope that they change some things around to make things a bit more cohesive but idk. I'm not really excited for this season and beyond, it's more of a curiosity to see how they play around with the story due to how ambitious the second game was but nonetheless I always have an appreciation for video-game adaptations cause they aren't done often, and much less are they done well.

That's what I love about this story, everyone has a different opinion based on their own situations and experiences! Pedro is doing so amazing with Joel, it doesn't matter if we think he did the right thing, he didn't, or somewhere in between, you can't help but feel just how much he's affected by everything happening between him and Ellie

I’m in the “Joel did the wrong thing” camp. I would have allowed the surgery. With that being said it’s still heartbreaking to see him try so hard to be part of Ellie’s life. Pedro does an excellent job of conveying his sadness.
