I wonder if there's any way around that, like surrounding the SSID with double-quotes, using shell escaping (a backslash followed by x20), or something similar. If they're using any sort of Linux software for connecting to the WiFi there's almost certainly some kind of workaround that will let you escape a space in the config file (probably not %20 though as it is unlikely to be using URL escaping).

I also wondered that. If true, that would be even more of an egregious ask than simply entering in the name differently

I suspect that when Gwyneth says "remove the space from the wifi name" they mean actually renaming your wifi network ssid to not have a space.

Would you want to review a glowforge? I actually have one the lid is a bit misaligned due to a hinge falling off from the glass but it still cuts fine. At least it did 2 years ago when I last used it. Maybe I should fire it up again.
So basically if you want a CO2 laser, ehh.
